I sat across from Ivy as she talked about random things. She was drunk but it was funny watching her go on and on about random things.

I stared at her beautiful face, wondering how I got so lucky to just be a part of her life.

"I'm gonna go get more drinks." She says before getting up and trying her best to walk over to the bar.

I smile before staring down into my lap. I stared at the diamond engagement ring that was between my fingers. I stole it. This morning I went out to get breakfast for us and I saw a couple fighting. The woman got mad at the husband about cheating so she threw the ring somewhere. The man yelled at her as he tried to look for it. I found it off to the side of the sidewalk near the sewer. I was going to give it back to him but figured he didn't deserve it so I kept it and started to think.

What if I proposed to her? What would she say?

Ivy stumbles back to the table, giggling.

I stuck the ring into my pocket so she wouldn't see.

"I got us shots." She says as she sits down.

I watch a man carry a tray of shots to our table. He places it down before walking away.

"Don't you think you've drunk enough already?" I ask her.

She shakes her head before taking a shot.

"Loosen up, Paxton." She says as she hands me a shot.

I sigh before taking it.

Before I knew it we were both drunk and we were laughing hysterically.

"Remember when my dad beat you up." She laughs.

"That hurt." I say as I laugh with her.

I grab her hand and pull her through a bunch of different doors, hallways and stairs. We ran through a door that led outside to what looked like a huge balcony with different stairs leading to the roof. Somehow through all the running Ivy took off her heels and gave them to me. We ran hand in hand up the flight of stairs, I held Ivy's hand in one hand and her heels in the other. We find another balcony and laugh as we look around us. The view was beautiful, the sky was dark and the moon lit up the night sky.

I pin Ivy to the railing making her giggle.

I place my hands on the railing on each side of her.

We stop laughing and stare at each other, our faces inches apart.

She looks up at the sky and smiles.

"It's beautiful." She whispers.

"It is." I say as I keep my stare on her.

The warm breeze blew through her black hair as she looked up at the moon in awe.

"You're like the moon." I tell her.

She smiles.

"What about you?" She asks as she looks at me.

I finally look up at the sky and point to the stars surrounding the moon.

"I'm the stars that follow the moon wherever she goes, never leaving her alone." I explain.

She giggles.

I look at her and stare into her green eyes.

I lean in and close the gap between us. She cups my face in her hands as our lips move in sync.
