*Erin's POV*

I was awfully nervous walking back into the district but Hank wanted me to go as soon as possible so I wouldn't be backing out before I had seen everyone.
"Lindsay." Trudy Platt was standing at the front desk, as she did the last time I was here.
"Hey Trudy." I smiled and when I heard the security door from intelligence open I looked up and there were Burgess and Upton.
The two stopped when they saw me.
"Erin!" Kim came running down the stairs and hugged me tiedly.
We had been best friends, now I didn't know what we were, but the fact that Kim was happy to see me must have meant that she wasn't mad at me.
"Hey Lindsay." Hailey smiled at me.
"I'll leave you to it." Hank buzzed up and we went to a separate room to talk.
"So you're here to visit us?" Burgess asked and I didn't know what to really answer.
"I'm kinda here to stay if everything works out." Kim's face lit up when I said that.
"That's great news." Hailey joined in.
"So you're backing out from where cer you've been?" Kim asked and I relaised that Hank apparently didn't told them where I went to.
"I was with the FBI in New York. But that just wasn't it. It's all fancy there and the single person doesn't really matter." I said and Kim and Hailey's eyes widened.
"I'm glad you're back, of course, but how can anyone turn down such a chance with the FBI?" Kim seemed a bit shocked.
"I missed you guys. I missed Chicago and all that." I explained.
"Before you go up there you should know that Jay's pretty down about you leaving so maybe you two should talk." Hailey said.
"We did already. He was the one bringing me back." They both looked shocked at me.
"So that was the training he attended." Kim looked at Hailey.

*Jay's POV*

When I drove into the parking lot Voight's car was there already and I assumed that Erin was here to.
"Hey chuckles. You should hurry a bit because you got a case. Voight is looking for you already." Trudy said and I ran up the stairs.
My eyes immediately fell on Erin's old desk, but of course she wasn't sitting there.
"After we have all managed to get there, we can go to get the suspect now." Voight looked at me with raised eyebrows.
I was driving with Adam and Kevin and they told me that the suspect was wanted for a double homicide and several violations of the Narcotics Act.
When we arrived at the location there were a few patrol cars parked in the street already.
After we had parked too we went to an alley where the breaching plan was discussed again, when I saw Erin in her blue uniform I smiled briefly at her, but then looked away because Voight gave me a stern look.
"Patrolmen are staying outside I want my unit to go up front. If we need you you we'll let you know." Voight ordered and it hurt a bit when Erin stayed back and we went in.

*Erin's POV*

Seeing my old unit go into the building wasn't the best start for me back at the district.
The other patrolmen seemed to be quite new to the job because they were talking excitedly until someone asked me where I was from.
"So is this your first day at the job?" A man asked me that seemed to be the most experienced of them.
"No. I'm a former FBI Agent and a Detective with the CPD." I actually didn't know what my rank was right now because I had left the Police Department but it felt good saying it.
One of the younger women wanted to say something when our radios went off.
"50-21 Ida. 10-01. 10-01. Officer down. Boss, Jay is down!" Adam radioed and I ran into the building before I really thought about it.
"This is Erin where are you guys?" I radioed and Kim answered me.
"Adam and Jay took the north side." I didn't answer her I just ran and then saw them.
"Erin?" Jay was laying in the floor and Adam was putting pressure onto his stomach.
"Jay." I knelt next to him and took his hand, which earned me a sideways glance from Adam but I didn't care.
"I'll cover you. You bring Jay out?" I asked and Adam nodded.
"Alright go." I stood between the two guys and the rest of the hallway because we didn't know where the shooter was or if he was coming back.
We made it downstairs without incident and the ambulance was waiting.
Right when I wanted to jump in Hank said my name and I turned around.
"Get over here. Now." Hank's voice was cold.
"Can we talk later?" I asked and looked back to the ambulance.
"No." Hank grabbed my arm and brought me a bit away from the rest of the people.
"Do you mind explaining me what the hell that was?" Hank looked angry.
"Jay got shot. Adam was alone with him. So I helped." I examined and didn't got why he was mad.
"Maybe I missed it but I didn't hear anyone call patrolmen in." Hank raised an eyebrow.
"Hank I know how this works." I was a bit offended about how he thought about me.
"That doesn't matter. You're out of the unit. Right now you are not more than the other patrolmen and I haven't seen any of them running in." Hank left me alone and I left the location when everyone looked at me.
