I already apologize for the mistakes that are likely to be in the trail, because the only one I have went see, the person that the trail was suppose to be about didn't show up, which is why I don't really know how it works.
*Erin's POV*
"The next case is: Erin Lindsay, charged with attempted murder, of Jack McAllister." Said the judge and I looked at Jay, who was sitting a little further away from me.
"Mrs Lindsay. I see that you are here without a lawyer. Would you like to represent yourself accordingly?" I swallowed before I could answer.
"I actually had a lawyer, Your Honor, but he seems to have been prevented. Is it possible to wait a little longer until he comes?" I knew that I had no chance on my own.
"If I may say something." David Baker stood up.
"Yes, Mr Baker." The judge said.
"I would like to ask to refused postponement because I have a tight schedule and I don't want my client to suffer if Mrs. Lindsay doesn't have her lawyer with her." The judge nodded and then looked back at me.
"Mr Baker does have a good point there. I'm sorry but we'll start the trail." She sat down again and my eyes met Hank's. We both knew, as certainly as the rest of the unit that Baker had planned everything.
"Then I'll ask for the first witness to come in." A side door opened and Antonio came in.
"So who are you and how do you know Jack McAllister?" One of the judges asked Antonio.
"My name is Antonio Dawson I'm a Detective with the Chicago Police Department. I only know Mr McAllister as a suspect. My unit and I wanted to arrest him, whereupon he then fled, which resulted in two of my colleagues, including Detective Lindsay, having to chase him in cars until the accident occurred." Antonio ended.
"Okay. And how do you know Erin Lindsay?" Was the next question he got asked.
"Erin Lindsay and I know each other for years. She's good police and I can't imagine..." Antonio got interrupted.
"Mr Dawson please only answer the question you get asked." The judge admonished him.*Jay's POV*
All in all it wasn't looking good for Erin. With every thing Baker said to her, she became more insecure and it drove me crazy that I couldn't help her.
"Where is her lawyer?" I was sitting next to Voight and he shrugged.
"He'll finish her, damn it." I ran my hands through my hair.
"I know." Pressed Voight out between his teeth.
"We need to do something." I looked to the right where a large screen got brought in.
"Have there been cameras?" Hailey was on my other side and I just didn't know. But when there were, you could tell she'd been there and seen everything without reporting it, you could see me, and you could see Voight burn down the car.
I wasn't worried about my arrest, but where should Alani go when Voight was gone too?
The video played, you saw a PickUp and the Mustang come down the street and you saw a woman who shot the car, not only the tires, but also the driver, which I definitely didn't remember that way, but I had also driven a little offset.
"Sarge!" Then it caught my eye.
"That's not my car and the women on the women is not Erin." The PickUp was a slightly different color and it wasn't my license plate.
"I see it too, Jay. The woman in the video has red hair but wears wig." Voight glared at Baker.
"So we can stop the prozess, right? Because they faked the whole video." I clung to this little possibility because if the jury approved the video, then Erin was in jail for a long time.
"We can't. We need to prove it." I saw Voight clench his fists.
"The jury has come to a verdict." Everyone in the hall stood up.
"Erin Lindsay. You will be sentenced to 15 years in prison for the attempted murder of Jack McAllister. No deposit is possible." With that sentence I felt my heart tighten.
"Erin." She turned and looked at me, and tears ran down her cheeks.
I had tears in my eyes myself and Voight held my arm because he knew exactly that I wanted to jump up and run to her.
"I love you." Formed her lips and then two officers took her away.
"I love you too. Forver." My voice was trembling and tears ran down my cheeks.
"Jay." Hailey had a hand on my shoulder and I was looking at her.
"We're gonna get her back." I nodded and then left the room.
As I stood outside in the hallway, I saw David Baker walking towards me alone.
"Too bad your wife did it." He smiled at me and that was too much for me.
"You bastard." I hit him in the face with my fist, which made him fall on the floor, then I was on top of him and kept hitting him until people pulled me off him.
I spun around, ready to hit more people in the face with my fist, until I realized it was Antonio and Atwater who were standing in front of me.
"Damn it. Jay calm down. Think about Alani before you beat up any more people." The two of them pulled me away from Baker, who was now standing surrounded by people again.
