*Erin's POV*
After a little while I walked away from Jay because I felt uncomfortable causing so much trouble just because I had some issues with my mom.
"Er." Jay grabbed my arm but I just walked into Alani's room because I couldn't face him right now.
"Just do what you want to do, but please listen to me." He had noticed that I couldn't stand his touch right now.
"I know you and therefore I know what's going on in your head right now; I don't mind taking care of you and I know the team doesn't mind helping you out. Bunny is gruesome and I don't know which idiot let her out of jail, but I know that I'm gonna come for that person's job." It was relieved that Jay was on my side.
"Jay?" I heard his footsteps receding.
"Yeah?" He turned back around.
"Thank you." He had no idea how much it helped that he was there for me.
Jay smiled at me and that was answer enough.
I put a jacket on Alani because it was cold outside and I wanted to take her with me to the district.
"Ready?" Jay asked and I nodded.
He was the first to walk out the door and I didn't know if he did it on purpose, but I knew I wouldn't have dared to go out first.
As I stepped out of the door, I looked around as if I was expecting my mother to turn the corner.
"Erin she is gone. Kev and Voight." Jay noticed immediately that I was feeling uncomfortable
"I know." I locked the door but stayed close to Jay, as if I expected my mom to come around the corner any second.
"Here." Jay tossed me the car keys.
"Thanks." I was happy when I could drive because it distracted me.
"Maybe you're not killing us right away by driving even faster." Jay was in the back with our daughter and I hadn't noticed I was driving faster than normal until I heard the sirens of a patrol car behind me.
"Ouh great." I really felt like doing that right now.
"Please turn off the engine and then get out of the vehicle." An officer was standing next to the car with his hand on his gun.
"There's no need for that. I'm a Detective and he is aswell." I gestured to the back of the seat where Jay was.
"Ma'am, please get out of the car before I have to get you." I realized that I couldn't get through with the 'I'm a cop too' number.
"Do you have guns or something that can hurt me in the car?" A second officer joined.
"My service weapon is in the glove compartment." Jay said while holding Alani.
"Alright." The car was searched and then I was given a ticket for driving too fast.
"I was just missing that." I started driving and kept the speed limits in mind.*Jay's POV*
When we walked into the district I saw Bunny before Erin did.
"Jay!" She squealed and I rolled my eyes.
"Get her out of here." I looked at a patrol officer and he nodded.
"Erin sweetheart!" Bunny tried to touch Erin's arm, but I stood between them and blocked her.
"Let's go upstairs." I made sure to stay between Erin and her mother the whole time.
"Who kept Bunny down there?" I was annoyed that no one had considered that Erin and I had to go through there to get here.
"Sorry man. I thought they took her away until you two came." Ruzek looked apologetically at us.
Burgess walked up and took Alani so we could go and Erin could sign the papers that Hailey had prepared already.
"Just sign there and down here and then your mother isn't allowed to come anywhere near you." Upton handed the papers to Erin and then took me aside.
"Look. We got a problem. I've already called the jail and they won't take Bunny back. I have no idea who she talked to, but they say the sentence has been served and she is free to go wherever she wants." When Upton said that I couldn't believe it.
"So you're telling me that this crazy lady can technically follow Erin everywhere as long as she keeps a distance?" Hailey nodded and I groaned.
"Want me to tell Erin?" She offered but I shook my head.
"I need to tell her myself. But thanks, Hailes." I walked past her back to Erin.
