*Erin's POV*
"I'll stay with you." Actually, the unit had been called to a crime scene, but we had received more letters in the last weeks and Jay seemed like he had no intention of leaving me alone.
"Then what do you want to do here?" I asked him and raised an eyebrow.
In the last few weeks I had decided not to be intimidated by this, because it was no use to me if I winced at every noice.
"I know you don't think that I need to protect you, but I don't want to leave you alone. The others are gone anyway." Jay sat at his desk and crossed his arms.
"You behave like Alani when she doesn't get what she wants." I wasn't mad at Jay for what he was doing, because what else was he supposed to do, but I was generally annoyed because I was eight months pregnant and everything I did hurt.
"Then we know who she got it from." Jay tried to lighten the mood a little but I was just so pissed at everything that some tears slipped out of my eyes.
"Er." Jay came over to me, but I turned away.
"I'm fine." I wanted to get up, but got stuck with my jacket on the chair.
"Damn it." I took off my jacket and dropped it on the floor.
"Ey. Wait." Jay followed me.
"No. Just stay here. I'm going to pick up Alani from her friend." Our daughter was invited to a birthday today and I knew I had to pick her up within the next hour anyway and I just needed a distraction right now.
"You don't go alone." Jay grabbed my arm and I turned around.
"Let me go." My voice sounded angrier than it should be and Jay immediately let go of me.
Without saying anything else I stormed out of the district and got into my car to get Alani.
I use the short time to calm down a bit and then arrived at the house where Alani was.
"Hey Mrs Carter." I greeted the other mother and then Alani came up to me.
"Mommy!" She jumped against me and I winced slightly when she hit my stomach.
"Take it easy, honey." I patted her head.
"Do you want to come in and sit for a second? You look a little pale." Mrs Carter looked at me but I shook my head.
"No thank you. My husband is waiting for us." That was only partially true, but I really wasn't in the mood for a conversation at the moment.
I went to the car with Alani by the hand and noticed that the pain in my belly did not go away, but rather got worse.
Alani shrieked in panic and then I was hit on the back of the head.*Jay's POV*
"Sarge?" I leaned into Voight's office.
"Yeah?" He looked up from the paperwork he was just filling out.
"Can I go to check on Erin? She left over an hour ago to pick up Alani and when I call her it goes straight to voicemail." The expression on Voight's face changed immediately.
"Sure. Take Upton. Just in case." I knew which case he was talking about and I didn't like it.
"Hailey. We're going for a ride." I motioned for her to follow me and she did it right away.
I knocked on the door of the house were the birthday party was and Mrs Carter opened the door for us.
"Hi. I don't know if you remember me, I'm Jay Halstead, Alani's father." I introduced myself.
"Of course. But you're wife has been here a while ago to get her home. Shouldn't I have given Alani to her?" The woman looked like she was seriously reproaching herself.
"No no. All good. We probably just miscommunicated. Have a nice day." Hailey and I left.
"Great." I kicked away a stone that was in front of me on the way.
"Isn't that Erin's car over there?" Upton got me out of my thoughts and then I saw Erin's car too.
"Erin! Alani!" I yelled because I saw that the the driver's door was open and there was blood on it.𝓢𝓸𝓻𝓻𝔂, 𝓫𝓾𝓭𝓭𝔂. 𝓘 𝓰𝓸𝓽 𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓮 𝓫𝓮𝓯𝓸𝓻𝓮 𝔂𝓸𝓾.
Same paper, same handwriting. It was the same person leaving me this text, as if they've know that I would be here after them.
"This is 50-21 George. My wife and daughter have been abducted. I need all available units." I called it in and then looked around, hoping that I would just find them.Do you have any idea who the stalker/kidnapper might me?
