*Jay's POV*

I couldn't stand people who made comments, especially not when someone commented on Erin.
"Sure you good?" Erin had withdrawn from my touch and I wasn't sure whether it was because of me or because the unit was here.
She had walked back into the cars but I kept an eye on her, in case someone came stupid on her again.
My head turned around when I heard yelling to my right side and saw Adam trying to get between two people.
"Ey!" I took one man's shoulders and Adam pulled the other way.
"What is this about?" I pushed the man against the fire truck.
"That idiot drove his car into mine!" The man looked over his shoulder and only spoke halfway to me.
"Alright. So I guess yours is the silver Audi over there?" I pointed to the car that was being towed and was at the beginning of the traffic jam.
"Yes." His focus was now on me.
"If I let you go now you won't run over and hit him again?" I still had both hands on his shoulder.
"I won't." I let go of him and he kept standing by me and described the situation to me.
"Alright. If you go over there to the officers they'll write down what you just told me and we'll contact you." I went back and caught a glimpse of Erin, who was talking to two children.
The two of us had never talked about having children but I knew that I really wanted to have kids and was hoping that she had the same opinion.
"What are you staring at her? She won't run away from you." I winced because I hadn't noticed Burgess was standing next to me.
"I am not staring at her." I shook my head and Kim grinned.
"Course not. I'll leave you to it." She walked away again and I walked over to Erin.
"Want something to drink?" I threw her a water bottle because we had been here for a while and it was a warm day.
"Thanks." She came over to me and we sat in the shadow that my car offered.
"Sorry about earlier. I was still a little shook up. It's been a while since people filmed me waiting for a mistake I would make." Erin looked over at me.
"Don't worry. I understand it." I wanted to say something else but I heard Voight over the radio.
"You guys have been long enough there now. I got another case for you and want you to take it." Erin grabbed the radio to answer.
"Copy, Hank. We're on our way." We got into my car and made our way out of there.
Voight had sent us the adress and it was at the lake.
"She was washed ashore here." A patrol officer walked with us over to the scene.
The lifeless body of a girl was lying on the beach and behind the barriers many people were standing and looking.
"Her stomach is cut." Erin had kneeled down and I saw it aswell.
"Were you able to get prints off of her?" I asked the people from Forensic and a women nodded.
"This is Lia Anderson. She lives in a government facility as her parents are both dead." She informed us and Erin looked at me.
"Guess then we go there." I nodded and we went back to the car.

*Erin's POV*

"Hey there. I'm Detective Erin Lindsay and this is my partner Jay Halstead. We would like to speak to Lia Anderson's legal guardian." An elderly man adjusted his glasses and looked at me closely.
"Why?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Because something happened to Lia and we need to talk her legal guardian about it." I tried to explain it to him and he nodded.
"Clara would you come to the front please? The police is here because of Lia again." He spoke into a microphone and a few moments later a women appeared in the hallway and opened the door for us so we could step in.
"So what did she do again?" She didn't really seem worried.
"Can we talk somewhere private?" A few girls were just walking past us and I didn't want them to hear what I was about to say.
The woman took us to a kind of classroom that was empty right now.
"Has she been seeing people she shouldn't be seeing again?" The women looked at Jay and me.
"We can assume that. What I'm going to say no will be hard but it needs to be said." Jay seemed like he was looking for a name tag but didnt find one.
"Clara, Lia is dead. We found her about an hour ago at the beach." The woman just took it and nodded.
"Anything else?" She raised and eyebrow and Jay and I shook our head.
"Well then have a great day, I gotta go back to work." She brought us out of the building and I looked at Jay in amazement when we got to the car.
"So it didn't really bother her, did it?" I couldn't believe that the girl's death had left the woman so untouched.
"I don't mean to say anything, but that also suggests how Lia was looked after when she was still alive." Jay started the engine and we drove back to the district.
