*Jay's POV*
"I hate this." Erin and I walked up the stairs to Intelligence and she was on desk duty.
"I know, Er. But it's for the best." She was four month along and it hadn't been all beautiful.
The last few weeks had passed us by in a flash.
After I found out that she was pregnant, a lot had changed for me, because I knew that I had to be even more careful now because I definitely didn't want to leave my pregnant wife alone.
"Sure, but Hank could have left me in the field a little longer." Erin pressed her head against my shoulder and then we were almost ran over by the unit.
"Jay!" Upton ran past me and I followed her down, leaving Erin alone.
"What's going on?" She was driving through Chicago at high speed and with sirens and I didn't know what was going on.
"We have a hostage situation in a hotel." I reached back and got my vest.
"10-1. Shots fired. Requesting immediat back-up." We heard someone say over the radio.
"50-21 Adam. Me and my team are two minutes out." Voight answered the call and Upton even went a little faster.
"Are there any demands?" I tried to get an overview so that we knew what to expect.
"No. Nothing." I sighed because that didn't get us anywhere.
"50-21 Henry. On the scene of the 10-1." I got my sniper out of the trunk and then Voight had arrived.
"Sergeant Voight. Me and my team take the lead on this. Do you know how many hostages or hostage-takers are inside?" We stood in front of a patrolmen.
"Not exactly, Sir. Three men are confirmed, but there can be more." We looked at Voight for further instructions.
"Upton, Halstead; north entrance. Atwater, Ruzek you go in on the East-side. Burgess and Al stay with me until we know what is going on inside. You don't split up, understood?" We nodded and then went to our position.
"Ready?" Hailey had her hand on my shoulder and nodded.
"Going in." I radioed and then opened the door, only to get shot at immediately.
I fired a shot and the guy dropped.
"One down. No need for an ambulance." I looked down at him and then took the gun from him, his blue eyes staring at me and we moved on.
"Movement." Hailey pointed to our right and we took cover.
"I got the shot." I was standing right behind her and she hit the man, who was then lying on the ground and wanted to reach for his weapon.
"Don't." I reloaded my gun and the sound made the guy freeze.
"How many are here?" I picked him up and pressed him to the wall.
"I won't tell you anything, you filthy cop." He spat in my face and I put my hand on the gunshot wound.
"Either you talk or I'll shoot you." I looked at him and he probably noticed that I was not kidding.
"Alright man! We're five." He looked at me.
"Then you're only four. One is down in the basement." Hailey took him and we wanted to bring him out but I heard someone scream.
"I need to." I looked at Hailey apologetically and then ran the other way, Voight's words in my head.
"Help me." A woman crawled slowly towards me on the floor.
"It's alright. You're safe." I helped her up, but that was a mistake.
"I may be, but not you." She pulled out a gun and held it in my face.
As I moved my hand to the gun I had from the man down in the basement, I felt cold metal on the back of my neck.*Erin's POV*
"50-21 Lincoln for Squad 50-21." I had followed the calls of the unit and hadn't heard from Jay for a long time, but from Hailey, which surprised me.
"Go for Upton." There she was again and Jay didn't answer me.
"You with Jay?" Nobody answered me and it pissed me off.
"What the hell?" I waited a moment, but still got no answer.
"Damn it you guys. Where is Jay!" I got up and walked restlessly back and forth in the bullpen.
"We don't know. We lost the contact." When Hank said that, I stopped walking.
"No you didn't. You can't." I went down the stairs and to my car because I had the address written down.
"Erin?" Hank kept saying my name but I didn't answer him anymore.
"You're not supposed to be here." Hank came up to me as I got out of my car.
"And you're not suppose to loose my husband." I threw at his head and then walked past him.
"I'm sorry, Erin. He just ran off to help someone." Hailey wasn't looking directly at me.
"Don't worry, okay? I know how he is." I nodded, but looked at the door, hoping Jay would get out, which he didn't.
"Shit." Upton looked up and I did aswell.
I saw Jay at an upper window, then he was gone and a short time later there was smoke coming out the same window.
"Get the Fire Department!" Someone yelled and Ruzek called it in.
"He's gonna be fine." Kim put an arm around me and I nodded, but I was too scared for him to really believe it.
"Watch out!" Three people came out of the building with rifles and were immediately shot, although Hank was yelling that no one should shoot.
"Where is he?" I Hank knelt next to someone, but the women died before she said anything.
"You just shot the people that could have told us where Halstead is." Hank ran a hand through his hair and I heard the Fire Department come.
