*Erin's POV*

When I woke up I looked into Jay's watery green eyes and couldn't help but smile.
"Hey there. How long have you been staring at me like that?" I leaned forward and kissed him.
"For a while. Hope you don't mind." He grinned at me and I shook my head.
"How's that arm of yours doing?" I looked over at his left arm, which was in a sling.
"Been better. But I gotta see it positive; the bone isn't sticking out anymore." Jay smirked and I shook my head at him.
"You're a total goof, Jay Halstead." I poked him in the side.
"I have to somehow make you laugh, right?" I smiled at him and nodded.
"Here you are! We've been looking for you all morning." A nurse came into the room and looked at me reproachfully.
"Why have you been looking for me?" I wasn't really following why she was so upset.
"Your room was abandoned when I walked in and nobody knew where you went." She shook her head and I realized that I had been with Jay all night.
"She slept fine. No need to worry." Jay joined the conversation and the nurse left again.
"Hank's gonna kill me when they tell him how much trouble im making here." I bit my bottom lip.
"I'll protect you. We made two bombs, so we can do this here too." Jay sounded confident.
"If you say so." I shrugged my shoulders.

*Jay's POV*

Erin left a few minutes later because she said she wanted to get some new clothes and get some fresh air outside.
Because my brother told the nurses that I wasn't allowed to get out of bed I stayed in my room and switched the TV on but because it was early in the morning there were mostly kids shows and I wasn't keen on watching Paw Patrol so I grabbed my phone and headphones and heard some music, but then I must have fell asleep because I woke up when Adam gently shook my shoulder.
"Hey man." He stopped touching me when he relaised I was awake.
"How are you doing?" Adam cocked his head and sat down next to my bed.
"It's fine. But I really want to get out of here as soon as possible." Ruzek nodded understandably.
"Can you talk me through what happened in that parking lot? Because you and Erin are the only ones that made it out alive." Adam had taken out a small notepad.
This was the first time I relaised or thought about the fact that there must have been other people with us.
When I was looking for Erin, I hadn't even bothered to look for other people or help anyone because I was so focused on finding my girlfriend.
Ruzek must have noticed what was on my mind.
"You couldn't have saved anyone. We didn't exactly find people. Just parts of them. You were the only ones far enough from the explosion not to be torn to pieces." I nodded and then started explaining.
When I finished Adam's face was pretty pale and he needed a moment before he could talk.
"I had no idea what was going on. When I heard you talking to Antonio over the radio I thought you would be exaggerating, because you were concerned for Erin." He hadn't written anything down because he had been clinging to my lips while I had been talking.
"I was scared for Erin. But it wasn't nice down there and I thought I was going to die." I looked into Adam's eyes and he nodded.
"When we were looking for you and then heard Erin's voice you can imagine how relieved we were and what a panic there was when you guys didn't answer any more." Ruzek sighed and I could imagine.
"Voight was the one that found you a few minutes after we lost the contact. Erin had left the radio open so we could hear you breathing when we got close enough." Adam explained and I was proud that my girl had been so smart to do that.
