Chapter 86

*Erin's POV*

She had taken him.
Bunny had taken my precious little baby boy.
I was lying on the floor, sweat all over my body, and I knew I needed medical attention.
The placenta was still inside me, but I was no longer in labor, so it wouldn't come out.
"Bunny!" Everything in me was reluctant to see this woman again, but I needed help.
"What? I have a baby to take care of." She rolled her eyes and I wanted to give her an answer about the baby she was having being my baby but I didn't have the strength to do so.
"I need an doctor or I'll die here." I noticed how slowly I was getting weaker and I was sure that I was beginning to have a sepsis.
"Okay? And what do you want me to do about it? Should I call your husband and let him know where to find your body? You already sent your daughter out anyway. That is totally irresponsible. I am sure she is dead." Bunny closed the door again and my eyes slowly closed.

*Jay's POV*

"Halstead." Trudy came up the stairs with a letter.
I had really had enough of this letter, but I opened it and read it.
"Got an adress." I showed it to Voight and he agreed that it was the same handwriting.
"Let's vest up and then go there." I skipped the part with the vest, ran to my car and drove to the address.
There I found a house with a kind of shed at the back.
"Erin?" I pushed the door open and it took a moment for my eyes to adjust to the darkness.
"Er." She sat leaning against the wall, her clothes were covered in blood and she was drenched in sweat.
She reached out her hand slowly to me and I immediately noticed that something was wrong.
"The baby." She whispered.
"I don't know. We haven't found Bunny yet. But I got Alani. Okay? She's with Kim right now." I held her hand while I waited for the ambulance to arrive that I had just called to take Erin to the hospital.
"Halstead!" I heard Voight calling.
"We're here. Please make the ambulance come faster." Erin's head tilted against my chest, but she wasn't passed out yet.
"What's going on in here." A paramedic came in and looked at us.
"She had a baby within the last few hours. She's bleeding and I don't know why." I moved away but held Erin while she was looked at.
"We need to get her into surgery. The placenta is still inside." Suddenly there was panic.
Because the stretcher didn't fit in the shed, I carried my wife past everyone to the ambulance and drove with her.
"So the baby is on it's way to the hospital aswell?" The medic asked and I swallowed.
"No. We don't know where it is." The expression on his face reflected how I was feeling right now.
Suddenly Erin flatlined and the guy started CPR.
We arrived at Med and Erin was immediately prepared for the emergency surgery.

"We got him." My radio pulled me out of my thoughts.
"Could you repeat that?" I only had recognised Adam's voice.
"We have Bunny and your son." I sat up straight away and my day wasn't that bad anymore, although nothing could overcome my fear about loosing Erin.
A few minutes later, Voight and Antonio arrived at the hospital with a small bundle that Natalie immediately took over.
"You two stay here and Jay you're with me." I followed Dr Manning into an separate room where I then saw my son for the first time.
"He's perfect." I put out a finger, which the little one cupped in his hand.
"Amazingly, he's also completely healthy. Not hypothermic and nothing." Natalie had apparently completed what she just did.
"He's a fighter." Tears welled up in my eyes because I didn't know if Erin would ever be able to hold him in her arms.
"Just like his mom." Nat turned her cell phone to me and showed me a picture of Erin lying in a hopital bed.
"The operation was successful. She will be fine again. One last thing before you go up and see her; what's his name?" I hadn't thought of that.
"His name is Cody." Erin and I agreed on that name a few weeks ago, so I hoped she would be okay if I told Natalie.
"Beautiful name." She picked him up and put him in my arms.
"Take him with you. I think he needs some parental love." I nodded and made my way slowly and carefully to Erin's room.
