"I'm just happy" I sparingly replied before turning to the beach in front of us. We've been here for a while and we're standing but we don't even sing even though our position is a bit awkward.
He giggled at what I said so I frowned at him. "Is that how you look when you're happy?"
"Do the gums need to be out when it's fun?" I'm sick of him just laughing. There was a streak of smile on my lips as we turned back to the peaceful ocean. Only the chirping of the birds in the air and the crashing of the waves disturbed the silence of the two of us.
"The length of time. I want to leave you in my house" traced the frustration in his voice that made me laugh.
"Four more years"
"I'll wait for you four more years?" He was upset that I let go of his embrace and pinched both of his cheeks.
"Don't you want to? You still have time to change your mind--"
"You do not love me?" He asked a pouty question that startled me. A few seconds passed before I got what he said so I laughed a little. "You do not love me anymore?" He frowned but asked a serious question.
"I love you. I love you so much" I said before kissing the bridge of his nose which made him smile.
"I guess. We're the same" he said
"Where are you?" I ask on the other line.
"I'm in a condo. Why?" Husky's voice sounded like a new awakening.
I can't be reassured because Thalia is already there. There's the woman I'm sure will snatch her.
"I'm busy Aubrey. If you don't need me I'll put it down--"
"Let's meet" I interrupted him. He was stunned for a while by what I said so my eyebrows rose. "Don't say you're wasting my time now--"
"Where will we meet?" He asked more. I let out a sigh before saying the place where we would meet.
"I'm young-- we're young Coby" I growled at him as I hugged the moose I owned.
"But I'm ready ..." he insisted. He was in a hurry to get us both married. He always insisted on speeding up the wedding. I was just it purely in denial but there was excitement especially in the twing we were both together.
I was fifteen that time while Coby was twenty two back then.
"It's been a while Thalia" I insisted when I got close to her. "I don't know what to call you ..." I said before leaving leaning on my car. "Bastard? Seizure? Brother? Or land deprived of the family?" My teasing caused him to stare at me before folding his arms.
You look like a freaking angel.
I don't know where I met or saw you but I'm familiar with his presence. Her presence makes me comfortable that's why I hate her.
If you weren't just Coby's sidekick I might have had a chance to be friends with you.
"It doesn't suit me" he began, making me smile. "But I know the words you left out will suit you better"
I feel irritated by his statement so I feel my blood boiling.
"No. That thing's suit you. Kasi wala ka dito kung hindi ka kinupkop ng mga magulang mo" ganti ko.
Tingnan natin kung hanggang saan ka aabot.
"Sure ka ba?" Pang aasar nya bago lumayao sa kotse nya upang umayos ng pagkakatayo sa haarapan ko.
"Oo. Ampon ka di ba?"
"Alam mo ba ang estado mo sa pamilya'ng Sarmiento?" Banat nya na nagpagitla sakin ngunit pinilit ko pa ring magmatigas."Baka kailangan ko pang ulit ulitin sayo na ampon ka rin katulad ko?"
"Psh. This is nonsense" saad ko na lang na animong biro ang sinabi nya.
That thing hits me.
"Nonsense dahil may punto ang mga sinasabi ko?"
"Pagkatapos mo sa parents ko. Sinong isusunod mo? Si Coby ba? Aahasin mo rin ba siya?" Asik ko na pilit tinatabunan ang sinasabi nya.
Hindi pwedeng makawala sakin si Coby lalo na ngayong-- handa na akong magpakasal sa kanya. After how so many years na hinintay namin, ngayon ko lang naramdamang hindi ko kakayanin kapag nawala pa sakin si Coby.
"Hindi ko na siya kailangang ahasin dahil siya na mismo mo ang lilingkis sakin oras na malaman nya ang totoo" ani nya na nagpakabog sa dibdib ko.
Anong sinasabi nya? Anong totoo?
Ramdam ko ang panghihina sa katawan ko. Lumapit sya sakin upang tabigin ako sa balikat na hindi ko na ininda dahil sa sobrang pagkalito.

Napapikit na lamang ako nang gumuhit sa lalamunan ko ang tama ng alak na ininom ko. Pabagsak ko ring ibinaba ang baso sa table na kaharap ko.
Isang buntong hininga ang pinakawalan ko bago pumikit at damhin ang sakit ng kalooban ko sa lahat ng nangyayari sakin ngayon.
Gusto kong magpakamatay dahil gulong gulo na ako sa buhay ko.
"I bet may problema ka sa buhay mo?" Baritonong saad ng isang boses dahilan upang mapalingon ako sa kanya. Gaya ko ay nakaupo siya sa high stool habang nakaharap sa baristang nasa harapan namin at abala sa pag combine ng drinks.
Hindi na rin ako nagulat nang bumaling ito sakin ng may ngiti sa labi. "Am I right?"
"Psh ano naman ngayon sayo?" Pataray kong sagot na mas lalong ikinalawak ng ngisi nya. Iling lamang ang iginawad nya bago ako tuluyang nilubayan bagamat nanatili siyang nakaupo ron.
Lumipas ang oras at nagpatuloy lamang ako sa pag inom. Kasabay ng matining at dumadagundong na tunog ng stereo, tila ba hindi rin nagpapatalo ang pag ikot ng paningin ko. Maraming nagtungo at naglahad ng kamay sakin upang yayain akong sumayaw sa dance floor ngunit inaayawan ko lamang.
Sorry. I'm taken. Taken by the man I'm willing to spend my life with him-- kahit na alam kong nanlalamig na siya sakin.
Hindi ko siya masisisi dahil nga sa kailangan nya nang mag asawa habang ako naman ay tila ba sariwa pa para sa kanya.
But I bet, I'm ready. Kung kailangan kong ako ang mag propose sa kanya-- yon ang gagawin ko.
Unti unti akong tumayo at gegewang gewang na nagtungo sa dance floor. Umiikot na ang paningin ko pero hindi ito sapat na dahilan upang mapigilan ako sa pagsasayaw.
"Hi pretty" a man greeted me causing me to look up. His eyes were fixed on my back so I slowly turned my back on him. The arm of the man who asked me met my waist.
"She's my fiancè. Better leave us" she threatened the man who greeted me.
"Okay. I'm sorry" its surrender before we turned away. A laugh I let out stink turned to him.
"Fiancè? Really? Do I know you? You're going crazy" I said before falling removed his hand that remained on my waist.
"The weather is not safe now-"
"I'm not safe with you and that's all I know" I insisted before turning my back on him. I just stopped leaving with more than my hand.
"Stay away from me !" I shouted at him but I was also immediately shocked when I saw the simmering anger on Coby's face.
"I'll take you home" he said before imitating me out.
"What are you doing here? Why are you making it rain?" He was hysterical when he saw me outside their house. "Aubrey. You'll get sick of what you're doing, eh" he said with his hand on his head. It's just funny because a young man seems to be disgusted by the presence of a ten -year -old child. "Come inside" he pulled my hand but I stood my ground. "Aubrey .."
"Please. Make a promise" I tearfully promised drooping on his shoulder. "Please Coby .."
"Please A-aubrey--" he couldn't continue what he was going to say because of the force of the slap I awarded him.
