Don't die this time

Three years later

Robyn felt the floor shake as the Jeep thundered over uneven ground, frost and snow biting at her cheeks. Natasha was driving, Clint shooting from the centre, trying to keep the attacking bots away. She herself, clung to the back, a sniper resting against her shoulder. She hadn't had the chance to aim yet, as Clint had said the bumps of the weather beaten earth left to much of a risk, and so Instead held her trademark twin dao swords, the vibranium shine gleaming in the white glow of the snow.

Huge beams targeted them as Tony stormed past, his suit battered, and Natasha knocked another droid away, before regaining her handle on the wheel. As a truck pulled alongside, and a huge cannon was aimed, Thor thundered down, flinging the enemy out of the vehicle.

"Nice," Robyn called, but her shout was lost in the battle. Thor leaped and crashed onto a watch tower, and proceeded to decimate the men, Tony swooping behind him.

Steve smashed through the undergrowth, the flag of America zigzagging through the forces. He sped away, dragging a soldier through the mud, Hulk just beside, tearing through the men like butter.

As the Jeep skidded to a halt, all three assassins flew out, weapons at the ready, closely flanked by the rest of the Avengers, and shredded through the next line of defense, Tony speeding ahead to scout out the destination, narrowly missing a shot.

"SHIT!" Tony's voice rang through their ear pieces, closely followed by a "language!" From Steve. He then called out for a report from J.A.R.V.I.S, who stated what they'd already guessed, the fortress was protected by a shield, the weaponry more advanced than any Hydra base so far.

"God, I hate Hydra," Bryn grunted, skewering a bot as it speared towards her, and heard Clint's agreement. The fight took on a serious tone as Thor confirmed, "Loki's scepter must be here, they would not have been able to mount this defense without it."

The fire intensified as Robyn and Natasha raced down to meet the remaining men, both wiping out several in one go, Natasha meeting her eyes to say, "At long last is taking a little long boys," before taking out the nearest gunman.

"Hey! That one was cute!" Robyn complained, winking at her.

"Stop flirting with the enemy Bryn," Natasha muttered over at her, though her eyes betrayed her laughter.

"Yeah, I think we've lost the element of surprise," Clint's voice came over the audio, shots firing in the back round, but Tony's offended tone soon replaced his.

"Wait, So no ones gonna deal with the fact that Cap just said 'language'"

"I know!... it just slipped out!" came Steve's affronted reply.

Robyn saw out of the corner of her eye, the 'iron leagon' as Tony liked to put it, soaring down to the city. Hearing a shout, she looked she away to see Clint on the floor, a younger man standing over him, and began to sprint over, but before she could get anywhere near, the guy disappeared, and a blast hit Clint in the side. Natasha reached him first, calling for help with the bunker, Robyn just behind. Hulk smashed through the squat building, demolishing it, and Robyn almost had to suppress a smile when she heard Natasha give a small "thank you". Any thoughts of glee were quickly squashed though when she saw the wound in Clint's side. He was groaning in pain, and as Natasha tried to support him, the snow beneath started to stain red.

She heard Steve yelling over at Tony, shouting for him to get inside, solders falling at his feet. A few booms later, the shield seemed to come down, and Tony flew in.

Natasha motioned for Robyn to help her apply pressure, and noted the others, "Clint is hit pretty bad guys, we might need to evac."

Thor was the one to reply, telling Steve to get to Tony, and that he'd take Barton back to the jet.
He then wiped out a squad heading straight for them, and Tony cut in soon after, "And for Gosh sake, watch your language!"

Robyn smirked at Steve's exasperated reply, but snapped back into reality as Clint groaned again, Thor taking him from the fight

"We're locked down out here," Natasha called out, and was met with Steve's reply, telling her to get banner. She glanced over at Robyn for a split second, and Bryn tried to reassure her with a look.
"The lullaby works, we know that. If it doesn't.... I'm right behind you."

Nat ran over to where the Hulk was stood, tearing up the remains of the fight. Robyn watched from a distance, seeing him approach, and tightened her grip on her blades. Although it had been three whole years since she'd met banner, and knew his limits, she hadn't exactly had the chance to fraternize with the Hulk, so was still wary as she watched Natasha reach out and touch him.

"I saw that smile," she teased as she darted over to where Natasha stood, facing away from the shrinking Bruce.

"Don't even think about it, miss-ooh-Look-Bucky-has-a-new-shirt. You have no rights."

"That was one time. ONCE. And I thought you trusted me!"
