After arguing with Tony about leaving him unprotected (to which he immediately made a point about being Ironman) Robyn had eventually been forced into going with Steve, Natasha, Clint and Bucky to get Ultron. It was the best solution, her grudging thoughts argued, but even Clint could see it wasn't just Tony's personal safety that made her anxious to go with him.But as the Quinn jet entered the airspace above Helen's lab, she looked over to Bucky, and found him looking back. And she knew, in that moment, that personal problems weren't to interfere with this fight. They were a team. And teams needed to be on the same terms. Plus she always fought best with another watching her back.
Bucky and Steve took to the ground as Clint, Nat and Robyn remained in the Quinn jet to reach the lab. Robyn turned up the volume on her ear piece as she heard the voice of Helen Cho, her left ear being slightly deaf from a past mission.
"We've got a private jet taking off across town, that could be him?"
"There, there's a truck from the lab, right above you Cap, on the loop by the bridge."
"They don't call you Hawkeye for nothing.." Robyn muttered beside him, already moving towards the lowering plane doors.
Clint's words were lost in the air as she began to open the hatch, but she caught Steve's last sentence.
"Negative, if they crash, the gem could level the city. We need to draw out Ultron."
As Steve prepared to jump onto the truck, Bucky just behind, Robyn motioned for Clint to hover nearer the truck, which was fast approaching beneath them. As she bent over the empty space, preparing to jump she felt a hand on her shoulder, and spun to see Nat, crouched on her heels in the same way.
"That jump is suicide for you, even Steve might struggle."
Robyn just winked, flicked her gaze back to the truck, and let herself fall back Into the air.
The rush of wind caused Nats shout to be lost to the breeze, and as Robyn spread herself in an almost star shape she looked at the fast approaching bridge, and the horrifying drop below it.
Only one chance at this, don't screw up
Well I'm going to hope I don't screw up, seeing as that would kill me
She drew her hands back to her waist, fighting the torrent of air, and felt the slim handles of her dao swords slip onto her grip. She flipped them out, clicking the switch to send out the 30 inch blades, leveled them out ahead of her, and as the edge of the bridge approached, and the cars thundered past, she flew past the baracade.... and felt a dreadful jarring in her arms as the blades slammed into the stone wall.
Damn
Robyn kept her gaze ahead of her, focusing on the sunken in silver of her swords, and started to pull herself up. She balanced on the handles, then vaulted onto the wall, before bending over and retracting the blades to pull them out of the wall. Bounding across the road, ignoring the beeping cars, and Nat yelling in her headset, she stepped onto the other side, jumped, and slammed onto the truck roof approximately 7 seconds after Bucky and Steve.
"Wassup guys."
Their expressions were so comedic she might have laughed if not for the fact that Steve refocused almost immediately, darted to the end of the truck and was almost blasted off by a shot, and was left clinging to the dragging door.
"Well, he's definitely unhappy. I'm gonna try keep him that way."
"Preferably without getting yourself killed." Robyn caught Buckys words, and hid her grin as she stumbled to the end of the truck, crouching to catch Steve attention.
