Robyn leaned back in the quiet shadows of the theatre. Her hands were working at a thin rope, winding and unwinding it, as her eyes watched Tony onstage. They crinkled slightly as applause flooded the auditorium, and saw the faint smile on Tony's face.
As he finished his speech, she watched as another small sign lit up on the corner of the stage, and Tony hurry off. Pushing herself off the wall, she slipped along the side path to head backstage, and paused as she passed Tony's most recent secretary.
"Miss Jarvis, thank god, I didn't mean to! Please, It was a mistake—"
"Relax Lula." Robyn soothed, smiling gently. "It was an honest mistake, anyone could have made it. Would you be kind enough to tell me which way Mr Stark went?"
The women gestured wildly down the corridor, and Robyn made her way through the door, pausing as she heard voices. Closing the door silently again, she backtracked, and found her self the other side of the corridor, round the corner from Tony and whoever he was with.
"...name was Charlie Spencer!"
Flip
"You murdered him."
Damn it. not again
"You think you fight for us? You just fight for yourself."
Robyn presses her forehead to the cool wall, listening.
"He's dead. And I blame you."
Robyn heard the clip of shoes nearing her, and rolled away from the wall to stand in the middle of the corridor. A woman strode around the corner, jumping when she saw Robyn.
"Who are you— Wait. You're one of them. You're an Avenger."
"Not really." Robyn shook her head.
"Yes, yes you are! You were there when my son... you killed him!!"
"Ultron killed him."
"And who created Ultron?" The woman spat back.
Robyn stood in silence for a few seconds, before looking the women dead in the eye.
"The people did, Ms Spencer. I assume that's your name?"
"What the hell does that mean?!"
"Ultron was created to defend earth. To keep people safe from everything up there. But he saw what people have done. He knew what, in the end, we will do. And it drove him mad. So you know what? Blame me all you like. But that man back there... don't you ever touch him again."
"Why would you care? He's an arrogant brat."
"Yes, he is. But he's brave. He's kind. He's lost a lot. And he would give his life gladly so your son could be alive. He would die a thousand times over, and happily to bring back your son alone. And let me tell you. I wouldn't. I'm not that good A person. Maybe I was once, but I've lost a lot. And I'm tired of being nice. So don't blame earths best defender for your sons death, which he will always regret. It will always haunt him." Robyn pushed past the woman, stopping just before she rounded the corner.
"I am truly sorry about your son."
"That doesn't bring him back."
"No. But it's the only consolation I can give that I think you'd accept. He sounded like an incredible person."
"He was."
And they both turned their separate ways. Robyn rounded the corner, walking towards Tony, who was leaning against the wall, his breathing ragged.
"Hey Zseni."
"Robyn."
"Your doctor says you need rest, c'mon."
"My doctor?" Tony frowned as Robyn pulled him upright.
"That's me."
"Wait, how are you my doctor?"
"I have a degree in human psychology."
Tony turned to look at her. "What? When did you... that still doesn't qualify you as my doctor."
"Well someone needs to be. Now let's go, I'm tired as hell as well, and I can't doctor you and me at the same time."

Robyn sat, staring out the window of the car as they drove past the suburban houses, Tony sat in his usual driving seat, her in shotgun.
It was nearly five months since Bucky had vanished, if you could call it that. Left, would be a better word. Robyn still remembered that night horribly clearly, the waking up, the cold of an empty bed, and the shouts as she looked around the tower. It was supposed to be the first night in a while they were all under the same roof, and instead Bucky had vanished into the night.
It had taken three months for Robyn to stop searching, and only then because she'd taken to sleeping outdoors, and not coming back to the tower for meals, and it was starting to damage her health. (Though It was on Natasha's orders that she did so, otherwise she would have never have come back.)
Now they were pulling up outside one of the many Avengers facilities around the country, and as Robyn stepped into the building, she felt a sigh run through her.
This was the closest place she'd had to home in a long time.
And it was falling to pieces around her.
