Robyn ran, Wanda behind her, Clint keeping their six, trying to keep people out of harms way. As Wanda dived from a blast Robyn found herself alone, and, knowing Clint was watching Wanda, ran deeper into the fight, metal and stone raining around her.

It was chaos, people screaming, houses falling, and demons of steel kept picking them off. Robyn kept shooting, more and more robots turning to her as she ran. Feeling the click of an empty gun, she re-holstered it, saving the rest of the bullets for later, and drew her swords again.

Saving.

She flung herself at the nearest bot, its guns raised at a cowering gathering of people, and thrusting her blades into its centre, spun around to the next. Decapitating it she charged at the last, when a voice cut her short.

The eyes of the final bot changed to red, almost searching her soul as the light shone back in her eyes.

"Robyn Diana Ana Jarvis. Robyn. Bryn. The Grim Reaper. That's a lot of names for one girl." The robot towered above her, every word penetrating deep into her scarred heart.

"But are you really a girl anymore? When did they start calling you the Reaper again? Ah yes, I see it. Your team thinks Hydra gave you that name, don't they? What would they say if they knew you got it before Hydra tore you apart, and rebuilt you into their weapon? 14 is a young age for a murderer."

"How... how do you...?" Robyn stammered back, her voice breaking.

"Know that? I have a little secret. Your plan to keep your past close worked well, at least for a while. But four years ago, I believe, Stark plugged that stick into his computer. I am part of his computer. And I know who you are, Robyn."

Her hand shaking as she held her swords, she stared defiantly back at at the robot, and whispered: "Who?"

"You are a ghost. You are a shadow of who you once were. Because that's what happens to you humans. You break, and then you fade away. You use pills, medication, anything to make you feel whole, to think you are worth anything, but you never will be, and never were. You are nothing. A monster of shadow."

Robyn lowered her head in silence, and the red eyed robot seemed to rise in victory when a sound came from the red headed girl. A broken, throaty sound of pure emotion.

"Really child, tears? I would have thought you were better than that. Oh wait. You're human."

Then she looked up.

Her eyes were clear, and gleeful, and she grinned as another bout of laugher sprang from her chest.

"You think this is tears? You think you know who I am?! You think you understand Humans?! Yes we break, yes we fade, but we don't Disappear! We push, we fight, and we remain!! You mock us for making mistakes, for feeling pain and acting on impulse. You mock us for what makes us human. For what defines who we are. I am not the Grim Reaper. Not anymore."

As the robot raised its arms, she jumped, spun between the blasts, and drove the swords through the arms of the creature, slamming it to the ground. Robyn lowered her head, keeping eye to eye with the bot.

"My name is Robyn Diana Ana Jarvis. One name for the bird who brings the end of the Winter. One for the goddess of the moon, for the goddess who only needed herself. Who didn't need anyone else to hold her up. And one for my mother. The kindest woman I've ever known, who gave me home, who gave me a family without a second glance. And a final name for the man who died for me. For the man who would have died for the world. You don't know me, or anyone else. You don't see the beauty of mankind. The ability to see wonder in everything.
And for that I pity you. Now let me tell you a secret.
I didn't become a murderer at 14. I became a murderer at 9. But then again, you became a murderer in less than a week. And at least I regret it."

The robot gave a creaking sound, almost a sigh.

"How can someone who's buried so many bodies have so much faith in humanity? It doesn't add up."

"Because destruction is easy. Hate is simple. But it's much harder to forgive, much harder to love. And those people you're trying to destroy, those people you say are monsters... they will be your downfall. Because they've seen darkness. And every one of them still has a heart. Still has a soul."

A chuckle came from the bot now, as the chaos raged around them.

"What about mr Barnes?"

Robyn gave a soft, small smile. "He's the best of the lot. He just doesn't know it yet." And she yanked the head off, sending it spinning into the chest of another, knocking it out of the air.

Sending the next few bots to robot hell, Robyn heard Steve come over the intercoms, calling for what sounded like backup. She reloaded her gun, slipped one blade back into its handle and, readying her weapons, ran towards the fight.

As she spotted Clint raising his bow, she slipped silently over to him, jumping across the car tops, her soft boots making little to no noise.

"No one would know...." she heard him mutter, and chuckled behind his back. He spun around, weapon raised, and she jumped back, hands up.

"Hey! Watch it, it's just me! Jeez."

"Oh. Sorry Bryn." He gave a sheepish grin.

"C'mon birdie, let's go save some pedestrians."

The started to jog off, working up to a sprint. Clint looked over to her.

"By 'save some pedestrians' you meant beat stuff up right?"

"Course'."

"You know I could totally take him right? Like, just say to the team, last I saw him, Ultron was sitting on him, yes he'll be missed. No one would know."

Robyn smirked, and shook her head. "Egy csapat jobb, mint egyetlen katona."

"Translation?!"

"A team is worth more than a single soldier."

He turned away scowling, and Robyn hid a grin as she heard him mutter, "No one would know."

They charged into the open road, and Robyn gave a laugh of glee as Steve, Bucky and Natasha stood silhouetted against the Heli-carrior. Backup had finally arrived.
