As they ran to gather people into the ships, Robyn found herself next to Bucky, and tensed slightly as he looked at her. But he didn't say anything, and they continued hurrying people onto the aircraft.

"Avengers, time to work for a living!" Tony's voice called over the earpieces.

Robyn hurried the last woman on the aircraft she was by.

"And if we're not actually Avengers, what would we do then?" She called back.

"Oh c'mon Robyn!"

Chuckling, she followed Clint and Steve into the heart of the city, the rest following behind, but turning to see Natasha charging forwards in a truck, ran towards her, and catching her eyes through the windscreen, jumped, ran up a nearby car, and slammed into the side of the yellow door, nodded to Natasha, and pulled herself onto the roof.

As they charged into the fray, Robyn decapitated her ninth robot, and gave a grin as it spiraled to the floor, only to be crushed by Natashas wheels. They smashed through the gates, and Robyn jumped off the roof, landing in a crouch beside the rest of the team.

"Whats the drill?" Natasha questioned.

It was Steve who replied. "This, is the drill. If Ultron gets his hands on it, we loose."

"Well that's isn't good odds." Robyn muttered.

As Ultron rose from the ground, Thor called out from ahead of her, "Is that the best you can do?!"

Ultron raised his hand, and suddenly all the bots in the city converged behind him.

"You had to ask." Steve sighed, and Robyn, holstering her gun, pulled out her second sword again, gave her temples a quick rub of annoyance.

"This is the best I can do. This is exactly what I wanted. All of you, against all of me. How can you possibly hope to stop me?"

"Well.... like the old man said.... Together."

And Hulk roared, and hell broke loose once again.

They came from all sides, and all sides were protected. Robyn felt the energy of Wanda's power light up the side of her face as she spun and danced with the robots, leading them to their deaths again and again. She saw the blasts from Tony come again, and again, and saw the Stars and Stripes bounce across the ceiling.

And it was easy. She had Bucky on her right, firing at the approaching robots, and any that got past him, she had gone in a matter of seconds. And she knew the rhythm, because she'd danced to it so many times before.

Running through the garden at 6

Tiptoeing down the halls at 9

Jumping from roof to roof at 11

Firing again and again at 13

Stumbling from the blows at 15

Shooting at the soldiers at 17

Dancing on the roof top at 29

And at 32, She found the peace again. And ran with it.

As the Vision guy fired Ultron through the roof, and Thor, Tony and him fire and the robot, Robyn kept her eyes on the minions, keeping them away from the drill, Bucky matching her every move. As the pats of the robots ran, Steve turned to them.

"We need to move out, even I can tell the airs getting thin, you guys head to the boats, I'll sweep for stragglers, be right behind you."

"What about the core?"

"I'll protect it." They all turned to Wanda. "It's my job."

Clint gave a nod, and he, Steve and Natasha sprinted off.

Robyn looked at her.

"Keep safe, yeah?"

And getting a nod in return, she followed the others out.

As Natasha and Clint grabbed a car, and Bucky and Steve sprinted on, Robyn grabbed a drainpipe, yanked it a few times, and scaled the wall. As she sprinted across the flat roofs, jumping the gaps, she retied her hair back, making a mental note to get it cut soon.

She skidded across the next roof, the slant leading to the ground, and jumped at the edge, flipped and rolled as she hit the ground.

Steve and Bucky ran up behind her.

"How... did you?..."

She spun around and grinned, before shooting another bot out of the sky, and running to help the people.

Shoving the last onto a ship, she jumped up with Clint, Bucky right behind her, and crouched to watch for Wanda.

And then disaster struck. A women started crying out, calling for her son, and Clint and Robyn looked eyes. For a few precious seconds they glared at each other, but she blinked first, and before she could grab him he'd jumped off, and was running to the kid. Robyn and Bucky watched carefully.

She could hear and breathing of the people behind her, the cries of the wounded, and beside her she felt the occasional brush of Buckys arm. She saw Clint jog over to the boy, picking him up, and she relaxed, and that was that.

If only she hadn't glanced away.

The plane came soaring out of nowhere, blasts tearing up the ground, and she saw Clint turn to shield the boy with his body, and let out a yell, and then there was a flash, and...

Robyn stumbled into Bucky, who struggled to hold her weight, having fallen into her just the same. Pietro stood, looking at Clint, his face hidden from view, and as she watched, he toppled to the ground. And she knew he was gone.

She saw Steve run to the body, and Bucky leave her side, and she just watched, because she couldn't do anything else.

And then she saw it. A twitch in the rubble, a movement. A final robot crawling its way out of the wreckage, missing an arm and both its legs, dragging itself across the ground, and as she watched it raised an arm, and its hands lit up.

And pointed at Bucky.

She didn't even feel herself move, didn't feel the wind against her cheeks, nor the bite of the gravel flying into her face.

She didn't feel the agony as the blasts shot into her skin, as she dived in front of the silver armed man, or see the bot fall as she delivered a final shot into its head.

She didn't feel the pain as she smashed into the dirt, and she didn't hear the cry as Bucky dropped beside her.

She didn't feel his arms come around her as he lifted her gently onto his lap, or feel his hands gently brush away her hair from her face.

But she did hear his whispered plea.

"Why?...."

She smiled, and closed her eyes. "You know why."

And as she slipped into darkness, and felt Bucky begin to shake, she heard his softly hum to words into her ears.

"The sun is fading,
The winds on the rise,
Listen to my lullaby.

The storm is brewing,
The clouds are grey,
Let me wash all your worries away.

The stars are shining,
Hear my song,
I'll love you till the dawn..."

Then

Nothing.
