You Lied

Chapter 26: Finally At Peace...

Ashley pulls up to The Ferrisville Asylum in an unmarked car, she gets out and looks around. She breaths in and out. "It's time to end this..." she says to herself. She takes out her phone and calls Leila. "Hey Leila, I'm here. Give me thirty minutes, then send backup."

"Yes ma'am. Good luck!" Ashley hangs up the phone and enters the Asylum. She enters the Asylum and looks around, she sees a trail of blood located on the ground and follows it up the stairs. She continues to follow it until she reaches the roof. She sees Jeff looking over the edge of the roof. "So, you've come..." says Jeff.

"Yeah, I'm here, and I'm not leaving without you in handcuffs or in a body bag," says Ashley.

"Oh Ashley...Remember the first time we came here, with Catherine and Keith...We were so young...So dumb...So ignorant of what our future holds..."

"Is there a point to this?"

Jeff laughs and says, "Is there a point to anything really? We live and breathe on this planet to what? Die when we get to old...And then what? We go to heaven, if such a place exists..."

"You'll be going to hell."

"Maybe so, but do you think god has abandoned us, because he's afraid of what he's created?"

"You're fucking insane..."

"Is that all you can say to me? 'You're insane' 'you're crazy' How about you have some FUCKING SYMPATHY FOR ME!!!" He turns around and looks at her.

"My sympathy went out the window when you slit Jessie's throat!"

"Why are you still hung up on that? That happened how long ago?"

"You fucking knew how much she meant to me!"

"She was a filthy LIAR-"

"She LOVED you!"

"What? What is love really Ash?"

"She loved you and me so much...And would do anything for us. Why the fuck do you think she gave you that coin?" He takes out the coin and looks at it.

"You mean this coin? This silly piece of..."

"Silly piece of what? Finish the fucking sentence!" He puts the coin back in this pocket. "That's what I thought...You're a fucking coward!" He doesn't say anything. "A coward who brings nothing but pain and death!" Jeff clenches his fist. "Yeah, that's right! Get pissed off, that's all you're ever good at anyway! Getting pissed off and taking it out on other people!" Ashley takes out her gun and points it at Jeff. "I'm taking you in, Jeffrey Woods! You have the right to remain silent, anything can and will be used against you in a court of law-'' Jeff throws his knife at Ashley and Ashley dodges it, he bum rushes her and knocks the gun out of her hand. Jeff runs over, picks it up and throws the gun over the edge, he then walks over and gets his knife. "Seems I struck a nerve," says Ashley. Jeff doesn't say anything just rushes her with the knife. Ashley ducks and hits him in the stomach, he punches her in the face and grabs her, he puts her in a chokehold and attempts to stab her. Ashley breaks out of the chokehold and flips Jeff over, Jeff rolls over and gets up. Jeff sidekicks Ashley in the face, she recovers and elbows Jeff in the face. He recovers and tries to stab Ashley, but Ashley grabs the knife and is struggling with it against Jeff. While they are struggling, they stop for a moment and look into each other's eyes. They stare at each other for a second, then Jeff kicks her down. He gets on top of her and attempts to stab her. Ashley resists and sees a rock on the ground. She grabs it and smashes it over his head, he lets go and Ashley kicks him off. The knife goes flying out of his hand, she runs over and attempts to grab it, but Jeff hits her with a pipe, she dodges out of the way of the second attack and grabs another pipe laying on the ground. He attempts to hit her, but Ashley blocks it and kicks him back. They battle each other with the pipes until the lock pipes. 

"WHY CAN'T YOU JUST ACCEPT ME!?" screams Jeff. Ashley pushes him back and they lock pipes again. 

"Why can't you stop killing innocent people!?" Jeff pushes her and against the edge of the roof, and smacks her pipe out of her hand. She notices a lighter fall out of Jeff's pocket, Jeff swings and Ashley blocks it with her metal arm. She bends down, picks up the lighter and flips it on, she shoves it in Jeff's face, and Jeff's cowers back in fear remembering the flames that ruined his life. He drops the pipe.

"NO! GET THAT AWAY FROM ME!!!" Jeff screams. Ashley then picks up his pipe and rips a piece of clothing off of her, and wraps it around the pipe, she lights the pipe, and starts getting closer to Jeff. He starts backing up.

"Oh, now you're afraid? How do you think all those people felt when you killed them? How do you think I felt when you murdered Jessie!? But there's a major difference between that night, and this one. Because tonight, I'm not afraid of you anymore!" Jeff looks around and sees a rock, he throws it at Ashley's hand causing her to drop the torch. Jeff tackles her down and punches her in the face several times hard, he stops for a moment and looks at Ashley's face. He starts crying, Ashley then backhands him and kicks him off of her, she then grabs his arm and elbows down hard on it breaking it, he screams in pain.

"FUCKING-"

"Fucking what? What am I Jeff? A whore? A bitch? A cunt? What the fuck am I to you Jeff?" interrupts Ashley.

"The love of my life...What am I to you?"

"A stranger..."

"A stranger?"

"Jeffrey Woods died a long time ago...And an evil monster has taken over his body. I miss my boyfriend, I miss the love of my life..."

"Ash..."

"Don't Ash me! Only Jeff is allowed to call me that! And he's dead..." Ashley starts tearing up. Jeff just turns around and thinks. While Jeff's distracted Ashley looks over and sees the torch and the knife. Ashley runs over and grabs both, she then runs over and stabs Jeff in the back. He screams in pain and Ashley takes the knife out. And turns Jeff around, she stabs him in the stomach and kicks him back. She slowly approaches him with the torch in hand.

"When I'm gone! Another monster will replace me! Do you really think killing me will solve all the world's problems?"

"No, but it will bring me and all your other victim's closure. And Jeff, do you know who said that exact same thing to you?" Jeff stands there and thinks. He remembers Randy, and the things he said.

"No...No...NO!!!!" screams Jeff. Ashley runs up to him and hits him with the torch, he staggers back, and Ashley delivers a kick knocking him off the building. He falls to the ground, and blood starts pooling around him. Ashley walks over to the edge. 

"Go to sleep...MOTHERFUCKER!!!" Ashley walks down to where Jeff's body is and grabs Jessie's coin from him. She hears sirens approaching her. Ashley looks at Jeff. "He's at rest now..." Ashley says to herself as she closes his eyes and sits down next to his body.
