The next few days flew by so quickly. The afternoon before I was supposed to leave, I took Casey’s bonsai tree back to him. "You took care of it?" He seemed surprised.

I nodded, "Are you coming to the party tonight?" I asked quietly.

"I can't. Beckman's mission has me leaving tonight."

That sucked to hear, "I wish you could be there." I sighed.

"You'll see me sooner than you think." He nodded. "I need to finish packing." That was his way of saying that I needed to go.

"I hope you're right about that." I nodded and turned to leave. I went back to my apartment laid down on the bed, leaving the box on the nightstand.

"How did it go?" Evan asked, pulling me close. I turned and buried my face in his chest and wrapped an arm around his waist. He rubbed my back and I closed my eyes. It didn't take long for me to fall asleep. I woke up when I felt the bed move.

"What time is it?" I mumbled.

"It's five thirty." Evan said. "You need to get up and get dressed." He told me. I whined quietly and got up to go find my dress. I put it on and went to go put my hair up and put makeup on. "Come here." Evan smiled and put his arms around my waist. He kissed my neck and then told me to close my eyes. I obeyed reluctantly and squirmed as I stood there. "Open 'em." I opened my eyes and saw that he had put a necklace with a pendant around my neck. I looked back up at him with a questioning look. "It's been in my family since the Civil War and my mama passed it on to me before she passed. She told me that I should give it to the right girl, and there isn't anyone more right than you Katherine." I turned around and wrapped my arms around him, resting my head against his chest. He kissed my hair and said, "I love you."

"I love you too." I stretched up on my toes and pressed a kiss to his lips.

"Now come on, we need to get to your party." He smiled and wrapped an arm around my
waist before ushering me out into the courtyard. I knocked on the door and Devon opened the door and ushered us in. Everybody was in the living room, waiting.

Ellie pulled me into a hug. When she pulled back, she saw the necklace and gave me a look before she pulled me into the kitchen to get a glass of wine. "Where did you get that?" She asked, looking at the necklace.

"Evan just gave it to me... It was his mother's." I whispered.

"So this is serious?" She asked quietly. Sarah had joined us and was listening in.

"Apparently so." She smiled and sipped her own glass.

"Yeah. I guess it is." I mumbled. The guys came into the kitchen with us and I couldn't have been more thankful. I leaned back against Evan when he stood behind me and put his arms around my waist.

"It smells wonderful." Evan said, smiling at Ellie.

"Thank you. It's also ready when everyone else is." She turned to me, "I made your favorite."

"You made the chicken with the peppers and tomatoes?" I asked.

"Of course."

"You're awesome Ellie."

We all sat down to eat and we laughed and talked for hours. I dozed off as we were sitting in the living room. I woke up when Evan gently shook my shoulder. "We need to go so you can get some sleep."

"Okay." I yawned and stood up to hug my family. "Love you. Good luck Chuck." I whispered. "Call me when you can." That statement was for everyone. After some more goodbyes, we went back to my apartment and went to bed. I crawled in bed and curled around Evan before I passed out.
