Several weeks later, the wedding was drawing closer and closer. Chuck had managed to find Dad. It hurt that he didn't keep me in the loop, or anything. He didn't even take me to go meet him. He took Sarah. I stayed quiet about it and tried not to let it show.

Every time it seems like things are a little too perfect, something always goes wrong. Dad got taken hostage by Ted Roark, and there was nothing we could do to stop it. Things took an interesting twist when we figured out that Chuck's ex, Jill, could help us find him. She told us that she knew someone who would know where he was being held. The only way to get close to him would be a family event. She and Chuck were going to have an engagement party.

"This is something I never thought I'd see." I said quietly while I was in the van with Casey and Sarah. It was fine until her Uncle Bernie showed up. He was her contact, and he didn't sound very happy at all. He took them to a private room and forced them to take out their ear pieces. "You guys should get in there." I told Casey and Sarah.

"Right." They were out of the van and at the front door in no time. I had to resist the urge to make a joke when Jill's dad joked that Casey and Sarah were like Beauty and the Beast, and that he must be loaded. They made it upstairs only to find Bernie dead. They played it off like he was drunk and got out.

"He made a call to this address earlier today." I explained. "Does that mean anything to you?" I asked, looking at Jill.

"It's a Ring facility used for recruitment." She replied. "But they could also be holding your dad there."

We sent Chuck and Casey in to get our dad. Things went a little south and Sarah and I had to go in after them, bringing Jill with us. In the gun battle that followed, Jill got away from us. We found the boys, and got out, not finding our dad. We later learned that Chuck let Jill go and gave her the very expensive engagement ring to get away.

We dropped Chuck off at the Buy More and went back to Castle so that we could talk to General Beckman. "Permission to stuff the nerd into a dark hole?" Casey asked, and I was inclined to agree with him.

"Granted. The Intersect project is done. I'm shutting you down." She replied. "He'll be put in a secure facility until we can determine what to do with him."

"What about their father General?" Sarah asked. "They've both served their country admirably and they deserve to have a relationship with their father."

I raised an eyebrow and looked over at her, but didn't say anything. "It's too late. Agent Walker, you will go get Chuck and bring him here under the pretense of having information on your father. Casey and Kat will be in Castle, waiting for him."

"Yes ma'am." I nodded. Before Casey and I knew what was happening, Chuck and Sarah had gone rogue to find our father. "I swear to God, I'm going to shoot him when we find him!" I swore as I packed for the trip.

"Who said that you're going?" Casey asked. We'd both been ordered to go after them, and promised that we'd have our pick of assignments after we left here. John was even promoted to a
colonel.

"You can't leave me here. Don't leave me out of this! Don't do what Chuck did to me!" Casey knew all about my frustration with my brother and his methods that he used to find our father.

“That's not what I'm saying. It would be helpful to have some tech support. That's all I'm getting at." He replied.

"I can do that from the car." I said, grabbing my laptop.

"You're going to need WiFi."

"It's got it built in. It's fine." I was still fuming. "Let's go." We grabbed our bags and headed for the Crown Vic. I booted up the computer and tracked Sarah and Chuck's phones. "We know that he made a call a little bit ago to Ellie. They're just outside of Barstow."
