I must have fallen asleep because the next thing I knew, the sun was shining in through the curtains and my phone was ringing. I looked at the caller ID and ignored the call when I saw that it was Casey calling. I got up and showered, taking my time because there was nowhere I had to be and nothing important to do. Once I was done, I dried off and went back into the room, only to hear my phone buzzing again. It was Chuck. I didn't trust that it was actually my brother on the other end of the line, and therefore declined the call. There were only three people that I was accepting calls from: Ellie, Beckman, and Shaw.

If Shaw needed me back, he would call me. I spent the majority of my day watching old movies and drinking. "I should take personal days more often." I mumbled to myself. I also might have done a little bit of digging into Casey's daughter. I came up with quite a bit. I saved the files to my hard-drive and called it a day.

Ellie called around dinner time. "Sweetie, Chuck says that you aren't answering his calls. I went across the courtyard to see you and Casey said you left last night. Where are you?"

"In a hotel." I replied quietly.

"Why didn't you come to our place? You didn't need to go to a hotel because you always have a place to stay here."

"I just need some alone time."

"John said that you took all of your stuff and left the key. That sounds like moving out."

"Ellie, I don't want to talk about this. He didn't tell you that he asked me to leave for a few days. So this isn't all on me."

"Kat, he didn't tell you to pack your stuff and get out. You did that on your own."

"I thought you were supposed to be on my side." I mumbled before hanging up. Now there were only two people that I was taking calls from. I had been planning to get dolled up and go down to the bar, but that was out of the question now. The rest of the night was spent with a pizza and more old movies.

The next morning, I woke up to a message from my sister. "I'm really sorry for what I said last night. Chuck told me what happened. I didn't know Casey had a daughter."

"Yeah neither did I." I mumbled. I let out a sigh. There was no way that I could stay mad at Ellie for long. I hit her name in my phone and called her.

"You've reached your idiot sister, Dr. Ellie Bartowski-Woodcomb." She answered.

"I can't stay mad at you for long." I replied.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"Eh. I took some personal days. There's a spa in this place. Want to get lunch with me and then go get a massage or something?" I asked.

"I would love that." She smiled. "I'll be there around noon." I sent her the address and my room number and went to get ready. When I got out of the shower, my phone was ringing. I looked at the caller ID and sighed. "This is Bartowski." I had to grow up and deal with Casey eventually.

"I've told you that I suck at this being a couple thing right?" He asked.

"You might have mentioned it." I replied.

"Have I mentioned that I can be an ass sometimes?"

"You haven't said it outright."

"This is me saying that now. Last night being a prime example of that." Casey said. "I'm sorry. I don't want you to leave. I couldn't even handle you being gone for a night. I didn't sleep at all. Especially with the thought of you and Shaw together in Castle."

"Well, rest easier. I got a hotel room for a couple days. I'm taking some personal days. Things have been a little bit stressful lately." I explained.
