Song - Hold me now by Thompson Twins
I woke up in the black of the night, slowly stirred awake by heavy breathing beside me.
"Timmy?" I asked rubbing my eyes.
He was stirring up against the headboard, glossy with sweat.
"Y/n." He sighed and pulled me close to him."What's wrong baby?"
"H-had a nightmare."
"A nightmare?" I asked switching on the light. Me and Timothée had been sleeping in the same bed together for months and he'd never once had a nightmare- or at least never had one that got him in such a state."Tell me what happened baby." I comforted, stroking his arm as he stared at the back wall of the bedroom.
"Felt so real..." he muttered. "We were in bed. And I woke up, there was blood everywhere..." he trailed off. I could see how it was upsetting him."The baby-" he couldn't finish the rest of the sentence. He sniffed to not cry and just pulled me closer.
"You're okay," he mumbled into my hair. "The baby's okay. That's all that matters."That was when I knew. This meant a lot to him. Yes he spoke to the baby and didn't want me to carry heavy boxes but that was all light stuff. I knew then that he not only loved me with all his being but our baby too.
I've never been the best with empathy but I figured the best thing to do was just let him hold me- it seemed to calm him. The next morning I woke before him and brought him breakfast in bed.
"Timmy, baby?" His eyes fluttered awake and his pupils dilated when he was the tray in my lap.
"You made me breakfast?"
"Eggs and bacon for my man." I smiled balancing the tray on his lap once he sat up.
He smiled."How ya feeling babe?" I asked with a tilt of the head.
"I'm alright now. Just got a little freaked out last night- sorry."
"Don't apologise. You're allowed to feel sad." I said rubbing his leg over the sheets.
"I just- I feel things really intensely y'know?"
"Yeah.""Blessing and a curse." He joked taking a sip of orange.
"Hey um Lois and Kerr are coming over for lunch. We were gonna brainstorm baby names."
His eyebrows lifted, delightful surprise.
"Exciting."
"I know." I smiled."You know I got work though?"
"Yeah, but I'll not decide on anything."
"Appreciate that." He chuckled.
I lent in and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"Thanks for the breakfast babe."
"No problem."...
Lois had brought large coloured paper and bright pens to brainstorm with. Kerr brought himself.
The paper was laid out on the table and we wrote baby names in the middle."Okay just to get this out the way." Lois drew an arrow from where baby names was written and wrote Lois. Immediately I said "No." and Kerr crossed it out.
She sighed; "Fine."
This time Kerr drew and arrow;
"Julia."
"That's nice." I said."Remember my auntie Julia?" Lois piped up.
"Oh my god, she always used to get blackout drunk at every occasion she appeared at." Kerr laughed.
"Okay not Julia then." I said crossing it out.
"Ooh what about..." said Lois before scribbing down Emilia."That's pretty, I like that. Where'd you come up with that?"
"It was in a book I like."
"Ooh books!" I exclaimed and quickly wrote Rose.
"Rose is nice- very English though."
"How'd you mean?"
"Bare in mind your daughter is gonna grow up with an American accent." Kerr said."Holy fuck she is!" The realisation hit me like a car.
"Well duh."
"I never thought about that- well that changes everything!"
"Oh here we go." Laughed Lois.
I straightened myself."Well what about Rachel or Rebecca?" Kerr pondered.
"Ooh I like them. Rachel like friends."
"Your mother'd like Rachel." Chuckled Lois.
"My mum doesn't even know I'm pregnant." I laughed only to earn looks of disappointment from my friends."What?"
"You haven't told your mum!" Barked Lois.
"Of course I haven't! She'd book a flight to New York and try to talk to me!"
"It was bad enough not inviting her to the wedding." Lois said. "She should know you're pregnant. In fact, I'm going to call her." Lois hit the table and stood up.I chased her into the living room from the kitchen table.
"Oh I know your not about to make a long distance call on my phone!"
"Watch me!"
"Don't you dial that number!"
She dialed the number.
"Don't you dare let it ring long enough for-""Hey Mrs. Y/l/n, it's Lois how are ya?"
I mouthed you bitch.
"Yeah I'm in New York with your daughter. She's getting along great. She actually has some news for you, I'll pass you to her."
Lois passed the phone to me and reluctantly I accepted.Y- Hi Mum.
M- Hello darling, what is it you have to tell me?
Y- I um I'm gonna have a baby.
M- You're what?!
Y- I would've told you sooner I just-
M- I'm gonna have to come out and see you and Tom in New York.
Y- It's Timothée.
M- Whatever his bloody name is.
Y- You don't have to come mum.
M- Oh no, I will. Since you forbid me from coming to your wedding-
Y- For the third time your invitation got lost!
M- I want to meet your husband.
Y- Oh alright then.
M- I'll be there in no time
Y- Don't you hurry now.I slammed the phone down.
"Thanks Lois." I said sarcastically.
"You're welcome." She said sincerely.A/N: Felt like the mum thing was an unfinished plot line so we bringing it in lads.
