Robert came home one night to a very quiet house. Baby Alex was fast asleep in his crib and Andy had fallen asleep on the sofa. As he opened the lounge door it woke her up.
Robert; "Hey sorry I woke you," he said
Andy; "it's fine" as she checked the time. I probably should get a bottle ready for the baby anyway"
Robert; "He smiled how's he been"
Andy; "He's been fine, been a happy boy all day"
Robert; "good hopefully he'll be a happy boy for his dad tomorrow when I have him. He laughs.
Andy;" well I'm no expert but if you go along with the times of his feeds I'm sure he will.
Over the few days Andy had looked after Alex she got him into a routine he's three and half months and if his feed isn't on time then yeah he turns into a little monster. He loves five minutes of tummy time any longer he'll get grumpy and he loves a bath just before his last bottle before putting him in his crib.
Andy; "if you do need help and he refused to settle don't hesitate to ring me she told Robert.
Robert; "thank you," he told her.
Andy goes back to her father's house while Robert has a couple of days off and then she'll pick the baby up from the day nursery when she finishes work.
without Andy, he didn't know what he or Ben would do. He was glad that they met her and agreed to help them.
Once Andy left after making two bottles up to help Robert she went back home only to find Ryan on the doorstep.
She didn't want to argue with him but also she didn't want to talk to him. She told him to go home. And went in the house.
Ryan; "where have you been all this time," he asked
Andy; " I've been helping someone with their baby, he's a single father and struggling, now go home I'll speak to you tomorrow," she told him.
Robert thought the routine was a silly idea apart from the feeding times of course but how wrong was he. The baby was still awake crying. It got to 12 and he needed help so he messaged andy.
I'm sorry Alex is being a nightmare please could you come and help. Robert
Just as she was enjoying her sleep she was disturbed
Sure give me twenty minutes and I'll be there she messages back.
She let herself in the house as he gave a spare key.
Andy; "Hey little guy what's the matter, he's been good for a few days what happened," She asked.
I skipped steps on the list that what, Robert was a little pissed at how she knew more about his son in the matter of a few days than him who's has known him for four months.
She had a bag with her,
Robert;" are you planning on staying the night," he asked hoping for her to say yes.
Andy; I wasn't thinking that, but your son has a habit of weeing on me every time I take his nappy off. She started smiling.
It made Robert laugh
Robert; I've found if you undo his nappy and open it then close it you don't get peed on.
Andy; Thanks for the tip now come on let bath this little guy so he can go sleep. She smiled.
Robert; will you stay and show me what you do, it's easier that way.
Although she wanted to say no, she needed to sort a few things out with Ryan but she agreed to stay and help
