The night was unsuccessful, Alex was clingy and every time they put him down he would wake up.
It was making Robert frustrated as he wanted to have this talk with andy.
Andy; Go and take a walk, it's not the babies fault.
Robert; I'm fine.
Andy; But that's just it, you ain't fine, you're getting frustrated and Alex can sense it. Please take ten minutes out.
Robert; I told you I'm fine, he said snapping at Andy.
Andy; "clearly you ain't otherwise you won't be snapping, so your choice you take a walk or I'll take Alex and go back to mine".
Robert; "Then you go but you won't be taking him with you, you ain't his mother".
She never expected him to say that and because he did it hurt her more. She knows she ain't his mum she isn't trying to be. Robert came to her for her help and he fell in love with her as she did with him.
It was a good job that the baby had fallen asleep in her arms because it would have been hard for her to walk out with him crying so she put him in his crib and Putting her shoes and jacket on
Robert; "wait where are you going"
Andy; "I'm going as you said"
Robert; "wait... Please don't go I'm sorry"
But she still kept going
Luckily for Robert Alex settled for the rest of the night but again he messed up with andy.
Their job was busy and they hadn't seen each other for a few days Robert had Alex in the station most of the time with him he only took him to the daycare when he was on the days shift.
He knew Andy would go and see the baby when she was at work.
One afternoon as she brought Alex to her office for a cuddle.
She sat talking to him
Andy; "I'm sorry little man, that I haven't been around all the time but I hope you're being a good boy for your daddy. I miss you loads."
Alex just laid there and listened. Andy didn't notice but Robert stood at the door of her office listening to her talk to the baby, he heard her say I just don't know anymore baby I want to give up.
He never let her know he was there as he walked out.
Andy took him back to daycare as it was time almost for Robert to pick him up. As she went to the daycare he was there.
Andy; "I'm sorry I thought I'd have time to get him back before you came to pick him up".
Robert; "it's fine, I'm glad he still get to see you. I- I erm want to talk to you".
Andy; "I'm sorry I need to go back to my office, I have a meeting"
Robert; "what about tonight?"
Andy; "I have to wash my hair"
Robert; "please".
She walked away back to her office.
That night when she returned home there was flowers a teddy bear and a box of chocolates laid on her bed a note saying that he was really for hurting her.
She put the flowers in the bin and throw the teddy aside and demolished the chocolates
That night she got a message from Robert. I am sorry please talk to me
Andy didn't get it as she fell straight asleep then she had worked then next morning so she didn't reply.
She sat in her office thinking about everything.
Robert was her everything but he pushed her away, he keeps pushing her away she wanted to have that talk with him the other night more than anything
A knock on the door brought her out of her thoughts
