Robert and Andy hadn't heard from Alex's grandparents for a least 5 months even though they said they would keep in contact and talk on the phone but they had nothing until now. So when Robert received a message one morning when he was at work he was surprised as he thought that they didn't want anything to do with Alex
Denise message; hello, it is Denise Alexander's grandmother we are down visiting family and we were wondering if we could have him for the weekend and take him to meet some of Claire's family
Denise sent Robert a text message the grandparents hadn't really kept in touch like they said they would so Robert was wary of the situation.
Robert's message; Hi, Denise you said you would keep in contact with Alex, you've been down to visit your family multiple times, you could have come and seen him then. Alex doesn't know who you are he's seen you once I don't want to send him with he would think is a stranger
Denise message; well how about taking him out for a few hours at the weekend then
Robert message; I still don't think it's a good idea need to get to know you, I'll speak to Andy about it and get back to you
Denise's message; why do you have to speak to her about it she isn't his mother, she isn't his family we are his family
Denise still doesn't like the fact that Andy is Alex's mother and she and Claire's family haven't been able to get to know him.
Robert's message; if Claire was still alive she would of abandon her son, Andy is the perfect mummy for him, she makes him happy takes him out to places spoiled him and spent her time cuddling and confronting him when he needs it, she has officially adopted him. I ain't stopping you from seeing him as I said he needs to get to know you before you take him out for the day and he spends the weekend with you
Denise message; well can we come and see him later, please
Robert message, sorry not tonight as Alex is with his godparents as I and Andy have plans
Denise didn't like the reply she felt like Robert was making it up so they couldn't see him, so she decided to see them in person
Andy was on her own as Robert is now back at work ben and bailey picked both babies up as they were taking them to a farm, so as they were child-free for the weekend Andy and Robert wanted to spend time together and talk about the wedding.
As Andy finished putting all the kid's toys away and sat down there was a knock at the door.
Denies; "good morning I came to see my grandson," she said pushing herself through the front door and making Andy lose her balance
Andy; "I'm sorry but he's not here he's gone out with his godparents if you had messages or called it would save your time"
Denise; "yeah I did message Robert and he told me I could take him out for a few hours so ring his godparents and get him back here now"
Andy didn't know what to do, she didn't have any message saying Alex's grandparents were going to take him but that could have been because he had a call.
Andy; "I'm sorry Robert hasn't spoken to me about it and I don't want to get ben to bring it back if he's already said no."
Denise; "oh dear did I not mention he said yes we can take him so please ring and get him back" the tone in her voice changed
Andy made the call to ben asking him to bring Alex home his grandmother wanted to spend time with him and ben said he would be back in twenty minutes.
Andy; "would you like a drink while you wait," She asked nicely
Denise; "no dear, how about getting his clothes ready so when he comes we can just go?"
Andy; "yeah there's no rush, you still have time" she tried her best to stool the plans hoping Robert would eventually message her because she thought this whole thing was too early.
Denise; "still no thank you. She said as the door knocked. Oh, here he is my grandson" heading to open the door before Andy could first.
Alex wouldn't go to Denise he clung to ben tightly burying his head into his neck and then started to cry.
Denise; "come on Alexander, I'm your real family not adopted or godparents," she told him as she tried taking the child from Ben
Ben; "you call yourself a grandparent but only came to see him once, you make me laugh. I ain't letting you take him for the weekend you can see that the child is frightened". Ben was fuming about the way Denise spoke to him and about Andy.
Denise; "if you don't give me the child then I'll ring the police and tell them you won't let me see him"
For them, they had every right to refuse not to let Denise take the baby
Been; "then go ahead and ring them because I'm sure they'll understand the situation."
Andy tried calming Denise down as she was shouting and scaring Alex even more. Ringing the police they got Ryan and his new partner
Ryan; "hello what is the problem," he asked Denise trying to get her to step away from being up close and personal with Ben
Denise; "they won't let me have my, grandson for the weekend
Ryan; "and whys that," he said playing a little dumb as he tried not to let her know he knows them.
Denise; "I don't get to see my grandchild he's all I have left of my daughter she died in childbirth"
Ryan; "I'm sorry to hear that, the child looks scared and upset maybe try a different day. How well does the child know you?"He asked
Denise; "the child knows me well I've seen him plenty of times," she said telling yet another lie.
Ben; he doesn't he snapped
Ryan; "well all we can suggest is once the child is calmed down then maybe take him but we really can't do anything as the child doesn't want to."
Denise; "you won't get away with this, you'll pay for humiliating me," she said storming away
Andy finally took the baby from Ben and cuddled him
Andy; "it's ok baby, you're fine"
Ben; "do you want me to take him back with me or leave him here"
Andy; "leave him here as he's probably going to be upset for a while"
Later that evening Andy just put Alex to bed and made a surprise dinner for Robert for when he can home she knew he would be back soon as the message saying has almost finished.
she sat on the sofa watching tv when She fell asleep but woke two hours later when a loud bang on the tv woke her then she heard the floor creak upstairs so she went to have a look
Andy; "Robert is that you, stop playing and come down. She thought it was Robert Playing one of his tricks on her
Robert", she said as she walk into their bedroom but nothing so she went to check on Alex. She stepped into the doorway
Denise; "I told you'll pay for this, she stud behind Andy as she turn around she hit Andy over the head with a vase
"Come on baby I'm taking you to meet your mommy," Denise said as she picked up sleeping Alex out of his cot leaving the bedroom and Andy that was out cold on the floor With blood coming from her head
Since the death of her husband Denise's mental health took a turn for the worse, Vincent gave her the care she needed and made sure she had her tablets when she needed them. Now she was in a facility where she was cared for but escaped and wanted Alex
Denise; "it's ok baby, we'll be with mommy soon" she tried calming Alex but he still kept crying. Denise had taken the baby to the top of the roof of an abandoned church where she felt close to Claire and Vincent.
