To Parker,

47. I wish you knew I only wanted to support you.

Hayley's POV

A soft knock at the door tore my attention away from the mirror. Drayton poked his head through the crack of the door and pushed it open, a wide smile etched on his face. The last time I saw Drayton in a suit was my father's funeral. That day everything was depressing, so I never really got a moment to admire how handsome it made him look.

However, tonight he looked dashing in his black tuxedo with his hair slicked back. "Wow," he muttered as he sauntered towards me. I pursed my lips in a thin line and turned my attention back towards the mirror. I don't have many dresses and the ones I do have aren't appropriate for tonight's event.

So Drayton suggested that I take one of my mother's dresses which she left behind. Well, she left behind half her closet anyway, so it's not like she misses anything. I couldn't stomach going into her room to get it myself so I trusted Drayton on picking something he thought suited me best and I can't deny that I look amazing in it.

It's a simple spaghetti-strapped v line red dress that wrapped around my waist tightly, flaring from my protruding hips down onto the floor like a ball gown. A slit ran down from my toe to the centre of my thigh and with it I wore a silver strapped heel.

My hair which was usually just thrown into a messy bun cascaded down my back in wavy curls. The finishing touch was a pearl necklace Drayton bought me last year on vacation and silver hoop earrings that Jenna loaned me seeing as I usually only wear studs.

"You look beautiful, Hayles," Drayton murmured as his hands fell onto my shoulders. He hugged me from behind, the smile never breaking free from his lips. "How do you feel?" He inquired.

"Amazing? I feel beautiful."

He chuckled, "yeah, because you are."

"You don't look so shabby yourself nurse Jeong." He bowed his head low, laughing softly at the incredulous look on my face. Then he took my hand and led me out of the room, rambling that it was time to leave. We were guests at Parker's house, being tardy wasn't an option.

When we made it out the front door, Landon appeared before us, strutting up the lawn. He was dressed in a navy blue dress pants and a simple white dress shirt. He looked just as handsome as Drayton. "Wow, Lee, you look–"

"Beautiful? Yeah she knows," Drayton interjected as we sauntered towards his car. Landon fell in step beside me, his eyes yet to peel away even when we climbed into the car. "Lan, you can stop staring now." He shook his head vigorously as if snapping himself out of a trance and glanced away, clearing his throat.

I couldn't help but laugh. If this was their reaction then I couldn't wait to see the look on Parker's face. Furthermore, I couldn't wait to see how he looked himself. Thinking about it made me giddy and slightly nervous. As I leaned back in my seat I sucked in a deep breath, smiling softly to myself.

The car rolled in between what appeared to be a Lamborghini and a Tesla. Drayton whistled under his breath as he pulled his keys out of the ignition, "I salamdeul-eun naleul wihae neomu bujaibnida," he complained, motioning towards both cars in exasperation.
