To Landon,

52. I wish you knew that you'd always be my first love.

Hayley's POV

"Okay, come on guys, the ceremony is about to begin. Bridesmaids, go out in the hall to meet up with the groomsmen so I can adjust some things on Hannah quickly." Mrs. Carmichael exclaimed as she ushered us all out of the room and into the hallway.

"She's a crazy one, that woman. No doubt in my mind that when it's Landon's turn to get married she'll let the entire world know." Renee mumbled as she fell in step beside me. I smiled softly as the thought came to my mind.

This conversation brought me back to the fair where Landon promised to marry me after Mr. Honey rejected my advances. All my life I was convinced I'd marry him someday and we'd have kids then grow old and die together. At the time that was just wishful thinking.

Still, it kept my passion for love alive. I never once thought that loving someone and growing old with them was useless or that I was too young to know what love felt like. I always tried to convince myself that I wasn't in love with Landon but that's a lie.

I was because he was the only guy that made my heart skip a beat even when I didn't know what that meant. Maybe I only felt that way because he was the only guy I knew so intimately and maybe I genuinely felt love for him. What I do know is I no longer feel that way and it's okay.

Because I love Parker.

I couldn't admit it last time because I thought that it was impossible to fall in love with someone in such a short amount of time. But nothing is impossible. The sky's the limit and I can't deny how I feel anymore.

I love Parker.

I smiled softly. "What are you blushing for? Is it Landon? I know he's handsome but please, don't make it too obvious." Renee exclaimed. Confused, I peered up, only to be met by a pair of brown eyes staring deeply and directly at me.

Landon was dressed in a black tuxedo, his once unruly curly hair slicked back into a silky man bun. When our gazes met, his mouth curved into a wide smile and for the very last time: my heart fluttered. "You look so handsome, Lan," I murmured as he approached me.

"So do you–I-I mean you look gorgeous, Lee. Wow, are you sure you're not the one getting married?" I chuckled softly. I still haven't gotten the opportunity to ask him about the situation with Vanessa. She told me there was a reason why she dated Landon and he'd tell me.

I want to know so I can finally put this situation to rest. "Okay chop, chop guys, the ceremony is about to begin. Let's go!" Landon outstretched his hand towards me and flashed me that charming smile, "come on beautiful," he said softly, "let's go."

"A photo booth, at a wedding! Seriously?" Landon laughed softly as he dragged me into the booth. He closed the curtain behind him and retrieved a quarter from his pocket. "It's where Hannah's husband first asked her to be his girlfriend so it's kind of like honouring the beginning of their relationship."

"Awe, that's so sweet," I cooed. He slipped the money into the booth and then turned his head towards me, "say cheese!" I burst out into a fit of laughter against my better judgement, just as the flashing lights flickered across our faces. "Why'd you laugh!?"
