To Parker,
31. I wish you knew how much fun I had.
Hayley's POV
"Hayley, you suck!" I narrowed my eyes at Baxter and fought the urge to flip him off as I tightened my grip onto the bowling pin, ignoring him. Before he could throw any more insults at me, Jenna slapped him upside the head and dragged him back down onto the bench. "Don't insult her idiot, she's trying her best." She exclaimed.
"Fine, you're right." He sighed before he placed both hands on either side of his mouth and shouted, "you're a sore loser!" Although the two barely know one another, by their interaction I can already tell they're gonna be amazing friends. Jenna grabbed him by the air and whispered incoherent words into his ears.
Baxter cowered in what appeared to be fear and with a triumphant smirk, she turned back towards me and threw her thumbs up into the air. "Superwoman, if you're not confident you're gonna make this shot then don't take it. We just need a strike to win, let me do it." Milton exclaimed as he began to approach me.
I shot my hand into the air, halting his footsteps. "I want Parker."
His head shot upwards, "what?" I motioned towards the spot beside me, "can you come to help me?" I mumbled innocently as I tugged my mouth into a tight-lipped smile. He flickered his eyes towards his team which consisted of Jenna, Baxter, Landon and Xenia. They all shook their heads vigorously, chanting no and pleading with him to not assist me.
There weren't any written rules stating members from the other team couldn't help. Plus this was just a friendly game between friends. Surely there's nothing wrong with my boyfriend helping me? Now is there?
"Don't fall for it, Parker. She's luring you in with those big evil brown eyes. I know she's cute but she's a wolf in sheep's clothing!" Baxter hissed. Jenna nodded her head in agreement, "yeah Parker I know we aren't the best of friends but I can guarantee you if you help her I'll be the last thing you see before your body gets lowered down into a grave."
"Parker!" He snapped his head towards me. I fought back the urge to laugh loudly at the completely clueless expression on his face. He didn't know what to do. "Please?" I pouted as I batted my lashes. I'm pretty sure he'll only consider this because of my irresistible adorableness. Even Baxter looks like he wants to help me despite being my biggest arch-nemesis at this moment.
"Okay," he said in a soft tone as he sauntered towards me. "Oh my god! He's whipped. What? Did you give him a love potion? Are you a witch?" Xenia spat as she glared at me. The rest of his team began to howl in protest but Parker ignored them and stood beside me. He wrapped one hand around my wrist then the other around my waist.
I cleared my throat at the proximity between us and bit down onto my lip to prevent myself from smiling. He drew my hand back and we both took careful but hasty steps forward until I loosened my grip on the ball. The atmosphere fell eerily silent as everyone watched in anticipation as the ball tumbled forward.
After what felt like an eternity, the ball careered towards the pins, knocking them all off their feet. It's a strike! I held back the bubble of excitement within me and pivoted on my heels to face Parker. I don't know why everyone remained silent, seeing as I just won for my team. "Thank you, Parker." I smiled. "But you just got played...and WE JUST WON!"
Milton was the first to howl out a burst of cheers, followed by everyone else who was on my team. He leaped towards me and tugged me into his arms, "you did it, I'm so proud of you! You used the power of simping against your opponent and this is the moment that I have taught you for. And finally, you have taken your powers and put them to good use. I'm proud of you my child."
