To Parker,

07. I wish you knew how much I needed this.

Hayley's POV

"Hey, Hayley!"

Parker approached me hastily down the sidewalk, black keys dangling from his fingertips, a smile I'm beginning to think is permanent was plastered on his face. When will he stop smiling? I've seen enough to know that it isn't 100% real.

"Hi," I struggled to look him in the eye seeing as he stood seven inches taller than me which required me to look directly into the sun that was blazing through the evening sky. "Where you headed?" He asked. I tore my gaze away from him and looked around confusedly to make sure he wasn't speaking to another person named Hayley or my shadow.

When I was sure that I was the one he was talking to, I peered back up at him, my hand coming to rest against my forehead to conceal my eyes from the sunlight. "Uhm, I'm going home, probably going to shamelessly indulge in bulks of junk food and binge watch something remotely watchable on Netflix."

He laughed softly and I fought the urge to smile in response, Parker is quite charismatic but I can't decipher whether or not it's really who he is or if this is all an act. Anyways, who am I to analyze other people? What he does is his business, I should stay out of it.

"Well, I can be the first to tell you Netflix has nothing good to watch at this moment so it'll be a waste of time. So why don't you ditch that plan and hang out with me? My friends and I are going to an indoor paintball facility to have some fun. Do you wanna tag along?"

I turned around once again, just so that I could double-check that I was the only one standing here. Why does he want me to hang out with him? On what green earth did this moment become a reality? What possessed him to ask that of me? "Sure?" And what in the hell possessed me to agree?!

"Yeah?"

No. "Yes!" Hayley Peterson Jeong, no!

"Cool, my car is right there, come on." He sauntered past me towards the row of cars parked on the curb and I don't know why I expected him to drive a simple car like a Sedan when he's the son of a millionaire. No, of course not, he drives a BMW. A freaking BMW.

God, I am not good enough to sit in such a beautiful car, what was I thinking? "Come on!" He shouted as he unlocked the passenger's door, motioning for me to get inside. Sensing my hesitance, he marched back towards me and gently removed my skateboard from my grip before finding his way back to the car.

At the sight of this, I rushed behind him, having no choice but to follow. Everywhere my skateboard goes, I go. "I hope this isn't weird for you. If you change your mind I can always drop you off home," he said, his voice heavy with reassurance. First of all, yes this is weird, I'm getting into a strangers car.

Yes we may go to the same school, we may have interacted a few times but he's still a stranger. So why do I still want to go? "No, no, I wanna come," I said as I hopped into the passenger's seat against my better judgement.

It was like my body had a mind of its own. Whilst my brain screamed for me to go home to the comforting sight of my fluffy duvet, my body despised the thought of being alone on a Saturday.

Parker was beside me in a matter of seconds, keys twisting in the ignition until the car was pulled onto the road, racing down the street. His car smelt like a mixture of leather, lemon air freshener and Bleu De Chanel cologne (Drayton wears the same thing.)

"Do you know everyone's calling you superwoman?" He asked, trying to create a conversation.

"Wait what? Why?"
