I left the boys in the corridor, I was a little upset about detention but I mostly felt bad for James. He was honestly a nice guy and I think him and Lily would be perfect together if I could help both of them understand one another.
After hearing the lunch bell I sprinted down the corridors getting odd stares and comments from passing students. I didn't care I just wanted to find Lily and I didn't want to miss lunch in the process.
I had made my way up the stairs, almost falling through trick steps and practically walking off of moving platforms until I had reached the fat lady, and I was two more seconds of running from fainting.
"Oh.....dear you look dreadful". She said prissily as she looked me up and down.
"frolicking fairies". I said irritated and through gritted teeth.
"Very well". She said swinging open.
I dragged myself up the stairs and through the dormitory door. It was empty. "SON OF A BIT-"
I was now running back through the portrait hole and down the stairs. Deciding it was talking to long I stopped midway and hopped on the side of the railing and slid down 3 connected stairs earning several yelps and screeches from students including a few "What are you doings?!" From several angry prefects, my feet touched the ground and I set off looking for her again.
I passed the great hall and then did a double take. There was Lily and Mary happily eating sandwiches talking about their first classes. I dragged myself through the hall and plopped myself across from them.
"y/n you look like shit". Mary stated. I looked to Lily.
"That would be your fault". I said, then took a drink of pumpkin juice. Lily looked confused at this, but decided not to question it further after the incident. Even though that's not what I was referencing to.
After a few minutes Mary had gone to say hello to another friend of hers, leaving Lily and I alone. I took the opportunity to ask her about earlier.
"Lily are you feeling okay now". I asked in a concerned manner.
"Yea......I feel bad for yelling at him. I was so mean to him, and the look on his face.......y/n I need to apologize to him." She said sighing. I simply smiled at her and she seemed to cheer up a bit.
"Don't worry". I said pulling out my Time table. "I'm pretty sure we have Care Of Magic Creatures with the boys". I looked up and she was eyeing me.
"what did you just say?" She questioned while narrowing her eyes.
"Huh?" I furrowed my brows, unsure of what she meant.
"You said The Boys". She said raising her eyebrows at me. "Your TOTALLY becoming friends with them!" She reached over and slapped my arm from across the table.
"OW" I exclaimed. She shook her head at me.
"Lily what am I supposed to do? i'm in a bunch of their classes and now WERE BOTH partners with two of the four. I explained.
She took a bite of a sandwich accepting her defeat as the bell for class rang out across the hall and we grabbed our bags and made our way out to the grounds.
(Sirius POV)
We skipped lunch and instead spent it trying to help Prongs figure out how he was gonna apologize to Lily for basically blowing up the classroom. I thought it was cool but whatever I guess it's a girl thing.
As the bell rang we made our way out to the grounds for Care Of Magical Creatures. We passed the Whomping Willow on the way and I Noticed Moony tense at this. I felt bad for him, but lucky for him he didn't have to do it alone anymore.
We arrived and James shrank at the sight of Lily, who was standing next to a very excited looking y/n. I found her quite attractive, and would probably go for her too if Moony didn't have such an obvious thing for the girl. The problem is I don't think he knows that yet.
(Y/N POV)
I was so excited. Care Of Magical Creatures was my favourite class, I always liked learning about the fascinating creatures and hoped to one day work with them in the magical world.
"Today we will be working with Nifflers". Professor Kettleburn announced. "I strongly recommend removing any shiny jewelry or watches if you'd like to keep them". Kettleburn said with a raw smile as he pulled out a sac.
After many students placed objects in the sac, Kettleburn had brought out several cages full of Nifflers.
"There are over 500 gold coins hidden in there". Professor Kettleburn stated as he pointed to a massive pile of soil.
"Here are your Nifflers". He said as he passed out Nifflers to every student. Mine was quite playful as it crawled up to my shoulders and around my head as I giggled.
"AHHH NOT MY FACE". Yelped Sirius, as the Niffler has just bit him square on the nose. James, Remus and Peter were hunched over with laughter with their Nifflers seemingly laughed along with them.
"That's enough thank you Mr.Black. "BUT MY FAC-"now, the person with the Niffler that collects the most coins will earn a free period next class". At this there was indistinct chatter among the class.
"RELEASE THE NIFFLERS!" He spoke enthusiastically as each student released the small creatures.
They Nifflers scrambled and dove in and out of the pile with flashes of gold and blurs of black. As the class cheered the creatures on.
Within 3 minutes the Nifflers had collected every last coin and retreated back to the students they were previously with.
After each Nifflers coins were counted the student who won the the free period was a Hufflepuff boy I didn't know.
The period was up and before I knew it I had to say goodbye to the small creatures. I put mine in its cage and looked over to the boys, Remus was petting the small creature cupping it in his palms. I laughed a little too loud as he looked over and immediately went a deep red, then put the Niffler in its cage. For some reason I liked seeing him like that it was kind of adorable but I just laughed the thought off and made my way with Lily back up to the castle.
(Lily POV)
On the way up to the castle I saw James walking in front of me and decided to apologize.
"Um James could I talk to you?" I spoke up, He turned around.
"yes yes sure". He said nodding his head vigorously and walking over.
As students passed by I spoke, "James i'm sorry for freaking at you today i'm sorry it was wrong of me". I said with my head down not looking him in the eye. I felt a soft hand in my wrist.
"Are you kidding? I was just about to bloody apologize to you!" he smiled. At that I laughed. He let go of my wrist and we made our way up to the castle.
"So Lilyflower you look hot with your hair like that". He said immediately ruining the progress he had made.
"Boys are idiots". I simply said walking away to go find y/n, slightly bothered by the comment Potter had made.
