Yeonjun's POVI walked around the silent house with my hands stuffed in the pockets of my sweatpants heading towards the room I shared with Y/n. I pushed open the door only to find it engulfed in darkness meaning, y/n wasn't there.
My eyes drifted to the clock, 12:43. Where has she gone off to so late?
I shut the door again and head for the main door hoping she'd be there in the backyard.
And she was.
She was sat upon a wooden bench staring at the sky with with a clouded expression while hugging her knees. Her facial features were illuminated by the moonlight as she stared at the moon.
Snapping back into reality I kept a hand over my beating heart. Why the hell are you pounding so fast? I wondered. A took a deep breath and walked toward where y/n sat.
"What are you doing up don't you have school tomorrow?" I ask making her look at me suprised. "I thought you were asleep." She said softly. I sighed and sat next to her. "Nah I wasn't."
We both went silent after that just enjoying each others' presence while staring at the sky, both of us lost in our own worlds.
"Have you ever lost someone very dear to you jun?" Y/n asked out of the blue. I glanced at her and back to the sky. "I have." I muttered lowly.
"Me too." She sighed.
"I just wish I could have told him goodbye properly." Y/n said hugging herself closer. "Was it your brother?" I asked with a hint of curiosity to which she shook her head.
"My bestfriend."
"He knew me like the back of his hand. He would always hug me when I was about to cry and I," she stopped to breathe. "I did nothing for him but cause trouble." She said resting her chin on her hands.
Why does this sound like someone I know?
"I'm pretty sure you had a place in his heart or he wouldn't be so fond of you." I say maintaining my gaze on her side profile. Y/n nodded slowly and then turned her head towards me with her adorable boba eyes.
Holy shit-
"What about you? What was the person you lost to you?" She questioned. A small smile creeped up my face making me turn my head back for the velvety sky studded with stars.
"She brought fun to my boring life. Like sun after an intense storm." I say sighing dreamily. "Even though she was younger than me, she had her own ways to cheer me up and in return I promised to always protect her." I chuckled at the memory. "She seems nice." Y/n said a ghost of a smile on her lips too.
A knock on our gate brought us out of the comfortable atmosphere as y/n lifted her head and immediately pushed her feet off the bench and slipped into her sandals and ran to the gate almost stumbling.
"You look like a dwarf running like that." I hollered after her after which I laughed when I recieved a glare from the said girl. Soon after she came running back with a plastic bag in her hand excitedly skipping like a kid.
"You want to eat tteokbokki with me?" She asked with a wide smile holding up the plastic bag near her face.
"Who would eat tteokbokki at this time in the night?" I questioned ignoring the thumping of my heart. Her smile turned into a frown as she grumpily sat down. "I was just hungry okay?" She said and took out her chopsticks handing me a pair and digging in.
"Why is this so spicy?" I asked almost breathing fire. "Spicy? It isn't spicy at all." Y/n said pointing her chopsticks accusingly at me. "Not spicy?! My oesophagus is on fire!" I yelled while she bit back a grin before leaning back and pulling out a bottle of soju with two shit glasses.
"No." I declined sitting back down. "Whyyy I'm legal! And I have you to look after me if I get wasted." Y/n pouted.
I have you to look after me....
"Stop saying things like that," I muttered lowly placing my hand on the wooden bench
leaning forward."Like what?" Y/n asked daringly reciprocating my actions so that we were only a few inches away from each other's face.
"Things that make me want to kiss you."
