(this is gonna be a long ass chapter get ready hehe)
3rd person's POV
"Why did photograph day have to be today?" Y/n groaned in bed looking at her planner from her pillow. She tossed and turned and then finally got out to freshen up.
Today y/n's school had decided on taking pictures for the yearbook since the y/n's batch would've graduating soon. But y/n wasn't particularly happy about that. She hated dressing up. It felt as if it was just a facade to the disgusting interior she had.
But it's not like she wanted to show people that either.
Her dad had always told her to dress up during her teenage because she looked 'ugly' with all the acne and braces which led to the downfall of the poor girl's self esteem.
Y/n painstakingly got ready and sat in front of her mirror setting down the powder puff after she was done. She stared at her reflection feeling her insides churn with anxiety.
What if I'm not pretty enough?
Y/n shook her head not letting that familiar tone and voice get to her. "I'm perfect the way I am." She said and smiled brightly.
But both, her and the voice in her head knew how much it took to do that.
"You're up?" Yeonjun's morning voice sounded from the kitchen as soon as he saw y/n descending down the stairs. "Yup." She chirps and sits down on one of the chairs rhythmically tapping her fingers against the smooth marble.
"Why isn't Soobin cooking today?" Y/n asked when she noticed Yeonjun bring in a plate with waffles.
"He's sick." Yeonjun said simply. "Oh no." Y/n pouted. Who was going to shower her with compliments so her 1% self esteem doesn't die?
"The principal told me about today and that I'm supposed to come too." Yeonjun sighed sitting down opposite y/n with his own food.
Y/n nodded. Yeonjun looked up from his plate and saw how adorable y/n looked with her cheeks stuffed. He sneakily pulled out his phone and positioned it before calling out,
"Y/n look here."
Y/n was caught off guard but when she looked up she was startled because of the flash. "You look so cute." Yeonjun cooed staring st the picture.
"No I don't." Y/n said pushing the remaining waffle into her mouth and looking down with a small frown.
This is when Yeonjun knew something was wrong.
Y/n was very confident and loved it when someone complimented her. But today she was different.
Yeonjun smiled softly and lifted his hand and placed it on her head patting it gently making sure he didn't ruin her hair.
"You are beautiful y/n."
Y/n looked up again the sparkle in her eye returning. She slowly processed Yeonjun's words while chewing in slow motion.
He thinks I'm beautiful?
Yeonjun noticed movement through is peripheral vision and quickly spoke.
"But not more beautiful than me." With a smug face. Y/n's small smile dropped and was replaced with a murderous glare.
"Asshole."
"No you."
"Uno reverse card."
"I already have a headache and you guys are making it worse." Taehyun said from the corner eyeing them. Y/n grabbed Yeonjun's hand from her head and threw it back to him. "Not my fault this jerk can't compliment someone nicely." She mumbled.
