Sick bae
When Chaeyoung says she hates being sick, she meant it mostly because there was nobody to look after her and shower her with affection.
The girl reminisced how her mother would say to her "I'm sorry I have to go again Chae but I know you'll manage you're a strong and capable girl." And how she'd comply telling herself to be strong even though she was only 8.
She had no intention of bothering her friends either so she just lay atop her duvet while being soaked in cold sweat from her fever.
This is how I die I guess Chaeyoung said and shut her sore eyes from looking at the ceiling for long.
That is until she heard the front door open.
It could be her parents but that was too good to be true and the others had no idea that she was sick so she settled on it being an intruder.
But she had no strength to even pick up her phone and stand up so she just lay there waiting to see what would happen.
But she fell asleep.
When Chaeyoung opened her eyes again she was securely tucked in her bed with her duvet up to her shoulders with a wet cloth on her forehead. To her, it didnt feel as if she had slept at all.
"My nose is stuffed." Chaeyoung mumbled.
"Are you feeling any better Chae?."
Chaeyoung slowly looked to the side where a tall male sat with a bowl of water looking at her keenly.
"Soobin? Am I hallucinating?" Chaeyoung wondered out loud while Soobin simply shook his head and stood up.
"You should've told us you were sick Chae or it would be like that time when you ended up in the hospital." Soobin said taking the cloth of her forehead, the feeling of his cold fingertips on her warm skin sent tingles throughout her body.
She watched as Soobin turned around to go to the door and she felt her heart lurching to stop him.
Don't go she wanted to say but nothing came out.
She wanted him to stay.
So instead, she rolled off the bed and dropped onto her carpeted floor with a thud startling the boy who was by her side in the flash of an eye.
"Chaeyoung!" Soobin said worry in his voice.
"Where are you going." She asked sitting up slowly.
"I was going to get you something to eat." Soobin said reaching out to pick up the towel that had fallen on the floor but before he could Chaeyoung caught his hand startling him.
"You're never here! Where are you going.." Chaeyoung said tears trailing down her face.
"Chaeyoung, instead of 'where are you going' do you mean 'please dont go'?" Soobin said finally catching onto her behavior.
"I'm not going anywhere Chaeyoung unless you get tired of me and never want to see me again." Soobin said placing his palm on her warm cheek and wiping her tear with his thumb.
And for once Chaeyoung felt loved.
Chaeyoung was asleep again and Soobin was stood beside the bed ready to leave after feeding Chaeyoung some food and giving her meds.
"I put the food in the refrigerator." He began.
"And I kept a glass of water here on the table if you're thirsty."
"Also, I like you Chaeyoung. More than friends." He said staring at the girl's non moving back.
"Call me if you need anything." Soobin said standing up but before he could leave he heard the faint mumble of,
"I like you too Soobin."
A wholesome smile spread across Soobin's face as he turned around to see Chaeyoung sitting in bed with a red face.
He wasted no time and striding over and pulling Chaeyoung into a kiss.
And Chaeyoung couldn't help but feel pure bliss. She'd never been loved like this before. No other guy she had been with ever shown her that they actually love her but Soobin did that.
Their lips moved in sync before Chaeyoung pulled away.
"Y-you'll probably get sick." She said with her hands on Soobin's chest with a rosy blush dusting her cheeks.
"We'll be sick together then." He said leaning in again.
And the two just sat there enjoying each others warmth throughout the evening.
