Y/n's POV
I hurriedly slipped my shoes on before slamming the door open and running out onto the empty but silent street and after running for about ten minutes it hit me.
I HAVE A HOLIDAY TODAY . . . . . .
I could've slept more but no I decided to forget that I have a holiday wow.
I sighed and turned around my stomach heavy from all the food grandma had fed me for breakfast saying that a 'child' like me needs to eat well.
Welp if only she knew too much food made me drowsy
I was passing by a junkyard with cars piled on top of each other which indicated that I was close by to a grocery store I used to go to all the time when I lived here.
I would've continued walking if it wasn't for small yaps and growls stealing my attention.
I turned on my heel and slowly made my way inside clutching on the strap of my backpack out of nervousness.
Peering around the pile of ruined and unused cars, my eyes fall onto a group of three teenage boys in their baseball uniforms holding a baseball bat and laughing at something which I couldn't see because of them standing in the way. The small rocks crunch softly under my feet as I discreetly move to behind a stockpile of cars finally getting a clearer view.
My jaw dropped as I saw them repeatedly throw a ball at a dog which was cowering in a corner and kept whining trying to tell them to stop. My anger fueled as I stepped out and spoke.
"Yah!"
They turned around with surprised faces not expecting someone to see their scandalous act.
Hah
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I said walking ahead and standing in front of the poor dog who was now nuzzling his head into my leg.
"Mind your own business." One of them answers rudely making me scoff.
"Not when you're hurting another living creature I'm not." I responded glaring at them.
The one with the baseball bat swung it at me in attempts to hit me but I kicked his leg making him fall with a groan.
"Have your parents not taught you not to hit a girl?" I asked mockingly raising an eyebrow.
"Have yours never taught you to not butt into others' work?"
I opened my mouth to retort before the dog jogged and stood in front of me yapping loudly.
Thinking I didn't notice, one of the boys raised his hand aiming the dropped bat at the dog. But in the blink of an eye the tiny little samoyed was in my arms while my back was turned as I felt excruciating pain all over meaning the bat had actually hit me.
"What in the world are you brats doing in my area huh?" A male voice asked full of authority. "And who told you it was okay to hit girls?" He asked again his voice louder sending a tingle down my spine.
I turned around to take a better look at what was happening and saw the guy who was much taller than me but his face was covered by a mask.
The boys scrambled away in fear as I stood there awkwardly biting my lip.
The man sighed and turned around to leave but I called out to him.
"Excuse me kind sir," I say formally being my awkward self.
"You don't have to be that formal y'know." He says with a chuckle.
"Ah sorry. But I wanted to thank you for what you did." I say finally and he turns around.
"Ok." He says running his fingers through his blonde hair.
"Let me treat you to some coffee! As a thank you gift." I said while stroking the dog who seemed to love it.
"If that's what you want-"
The loud ringing of his phone cut him off as he streched his hand making his jacket roll up which revealed a very bright bracelet hanging loosely off his fair skin.
My entire being stopped functioning for a second when I realised,
"I have to go. Treat me to coffee if I ever see you again." He says walking away before I could even call him.
I had the same bracelet as him.
~ I walked home deep in thought my mind going haywire with the possibilities of who the guy could be. At one point I did think he could have bought it somewhere but I don't think whoever I made that bracelet for would give it away so easily.
I hoped they didn't.
I couldn't let the guys know I got a dog home or they would flip, so I kept him in my backpack with the zipper half-open so the lil guy could breathe.
I opened the main door and walked in to a lot of noise from the living room. Slipping my shoes off I walked in calmly before I yelled out too.
"WHY IS HIS HAIR BLONDE AND NOT BLUE?!"
