"That's MY waffle."

"No its Mine i saw it first."

"Both of you get out it was mine."

Soobin angrily plopped a waffle on Y/n, Yeonjun's and Beomgyu's plate who sheepishly chuckled before all three of them reached out for the bottle of maple syrup, glares immediately being thrown at each other.

"I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU DON'T STOP." Soobin thundered from behind and Yeonjun pushed the bottle toward Beomgyu who shook his head and passed it to y/n who smiled and poured the syrup happily over her waffles before keeping it back in its place.

Seeing Yeonjun and Beomgyu glare at each other like wild cats soobin sighed and poured the syrup for them.

"Children. I'm surrounded by children." Soobin grumbled walking back into the kitchen where Chaeyoung backhugged him placing her chin on his wide shoulders.

"You'll be a great dad Soob."

And just like that Soobin was red as hell.

"W-what?"

Chaeyoung giggled placing a kiss on his cheek and sauntering out the kitchen. "You're so cute. You'll be a great dad."

Jieun descended down the stairs, waving at Y/n who smiled at her. She had began to let go of her closed off nature deciding to trust Taehyun on opening up to the people he called family and turns out he was right.

Y/n and Yeonjun were both caring always shooting her smiles and worried glances when they thought something was wrong.

Chaeyoung and Soobin were the same. Soobin was the comfort food chef while Chaeyoung was the queen of distracting Jieun whenever she was upset.

Beomgyu and Huening Kai were the ones who brought the light in any gloomy day. She was truly grateful for their lame but hilarious jokes.

Taehyun. She didn't know why but Taehyun's presence always mattered. When he wasn't around she would find herself wandering the house hoping to accidentally bump into him. The two were practically joint at the hip in high school since they were considered scary and nobody messed with them.

She recalled all the times Taehyun and her had gone on practice missions and how he'd saved her ass whenever she was falling behind or more tired than usual, he Always had her back and she always had his.

In their busy teenage, Jieun never managed to notice the validation she looked for from the boy. Be it a guy she was crushing over (minus the fact that Taehyun reads people well) or the friends she made, Taehyun's opinion was always on top.

On meeting him years later like this Jieun would've thought it was fate like any girl would have but she was annoyed as unbelievable as it sounds. Why is he here? I don't want him here was the first thought in her head on seeing him.

Maybe she was still hurt from when he had to move away, uninformed. Maybe she was then insecure that people who stayed the longest and she valued would leave eventually. She knew that people come and go but she'd never wanted a human to stay in her life more than Kang Taehyun.

"Jieun? You good?" Y/n snapped her back from her thoughts as she nodded before taking a bite of her waffle. Damn soobin really cooked good.

"Where's Taehyun?" Kai asked as Soobin finally sat down at the table.

"He's packing to go to the US. Did you forget already?"

Jieun froze in her seat, her fork still in her mouth. The US?

"What? Even I didn't know." Y/n shifted the the edge of her seat. "How long will he be gone?"

"Six months." Yeonjun replied.

Jieun's mind went into a frenzy. Six months? She would move back in with her mother then and after that she might never get to see him. Six months is too much.

Jieun got up from her chair startling everyone with the cutlery that shook from the impact.

"Ji?" Chaeyoung called out cautiously.

"I'm okay." She smiled quickly before it disappeared. "I'm feeling a bit under the weather. I'll be in my room."

"Okay go rest." Soobin urged and the six watched her leave and sighed.

"You think this will push her to confess?" Y/n asked, clearly worried for the younger girl.

"It won't work unless part 2 of the plan isn't carried out." Beomgyu said and glanced up. "It's about to start now."

Taehyun wiped his damp hair with a towel before hanging it over the chair and sitting down, his eyes searching for the all too familiar face.

"Wheres Jieun?" He asked pouring chocolate syrup over his waffle.

"She's packing." Yeonjun spoke up.

"For what?" Taehyun asked confusion evident on his features.

"You didn't hear? Her moms coming home early so she has to go back." Chaeyoung informed and heard Taehyun mutter an 'oh'.

Taehyun silently ate his mind racing with thoughts. Why didn't she tell him? Surely she didn't hate him for back then did she?

But one thing was clear in Taehyun's mind,

He had to clear things up.

"I'm going to the gym." He stood up.

"But you just showered." Beomgyu pointed out only for Taehyun to glare at him making him shut up.

Beomgyu stood up and high fived everyone at the table with a wide smile after Taehyun was gone. "Now we wait."
