"If you can't find an opportunity, create your own."

Third Omniscient Point Of View.

______

Thandeka was speechless. She didn't know what to tell her mother for two main reasons: she's scared of her and she doesn't remember all this. The video continues and Zweli can be seen dragging her out as she sings out Betty's ringtone.

"I received a call from the Nkabinde's! They are furious. They think my daughter -a princess- is a drunkard! What am I to tell them, Thandeka?"

Betty rushed out to avoid interference. She knew when to leave the queen and her daughter to talk.

Thandeka sobbed as her mother lectured her. It was rare for her mother to scold her for her disobedience. It didn't happen often. Thandiwe sighed. "I'm deeply disappointed in you, Thandeka. What example are you setting? I thought you didn't even drink."

Thandeka tried to explain but she couldn't. She badly wanted to. "Ma.. I'm sorry. I don't know how... how this happened."

"There's no use explaining. The Nkabinde's are worried that we've lied to them about you. Tomorrow morning, we're going to Ganyaza to get you tested."

Thandeka gulped as she wondered what her mother. "Tested how? For what?"

"Your virginity, Thandeka." She folded her arms, with a stern look on her face. "I hope for your sake you're still a virgin." And with that, she leaves, gently closing the door. Thandeka can't think straight.

She can't recall a single thing from the night.

After a rough and long battle, Qophelo had won. Thandeka watched from her seat as her man was praised. Their eyes connected more than once and it made her feel somewhat of a teenager having her first boyfriend. She couldn't control the huge smile on her face. She was proud of him.

Although, she couldn't shake the anxiety of what was to come. He was going to be around her almost 24/7. How could she go to barely seeing the man to having him around her, protecting her, making her his priority, intoxicating her with his beauty, his eyes were the most beautiful eyes she'd ever seen, everything about him was just...

"Thandeka!" Her mother his her arm and she faced her with wide eyes and mouth.

"Ma?"

"I've been calling your name. What are you daydreaming about? Your wedding with Zweli, I hope."

Her mood dampened but she hid it with a smile. "Sure. It feels so surreal."

"I'm just glad that you're getting married to a good family. One with the same status as us so we know that they're not here for our money. They're not here to exploit our family." Her mother said and Thandeka looked back at Qophelo, who was celebrating with his friends.

She recognised one of them as the one Betty had a crush on. She thought she hid it well but Thandeka knew the face of a lovesick puppy and that's exactly what Betty liked when she stared at him. Manqoba.

"Mhm." Thandeka agreed absentmindedly to whatever her mother had said. Once again, Qophelo looked to their side and their eyes connected. It was like in slow motion. This time, it was a staring contest that did feel longer than necessary. None of them looked away. It was when Jabulani dragged him away from his friends, that they broke eye contact.

Jabulani approached the Royal Family with a smile on his face and a beaten Qophelo. They got down on one knee as Jabulani announced who he was. Qophelo's head was also bowed and Thandeka wished that she could look at him once again. There must be something building between them right? She couldn't be imagining so much eye contact in one day.
