"The truth always comes out in the end, no matter how hard anyone tries to hide it or stop it. Lies are just a temporary delay to the inevitable."
Third Omniscient Point Of View
_____[A FEW MONTHS LATER]
It was just a few months till Siya's coronation. After his disappointment at his daughter's failure of a marriage, with good advice from his council, King Nxebalendoda stepped down. His hope was in his son now. He had arranged that he marry from the Dlamini Kingdom. Zakhele Dlamini was a polygamist. He also had beautiful daughter's that Siya could choose from.
Siyabonga has chosen to forget about Amukelani and move on. He had a big responsibility ahead and he did not need to chase someone who wasn't interested in him. Sure, he would still be by her side and comfort her but things between them would never be more than just friends. It was obvious now. Especially since she was prioritizing her pregnancy.
She was showing and her stomach was so big, she looked ready to pop. Her pregnancy was making her glow. She was being taken care of at KwaNdaba and it showed that she was grateful. She helped Thandeka around at orphanages and hospitals at KwaNkabinde and also KwaNdaba. She was just proud to be around people who she cared about once more.
She had been so lonely for majority of her life and now it looked like things were back to normal. She was happy and her baby was going to be born soon.
"This look amazing, Amu!" Thandeka complemented her as she admired the food and packages. The orphanages were thriving. More children were being adopted and those who weren't were being fed and clothed properly. The buildings had been renewed with the help of funding from other Kingdoms, especially King Nxebalendoda since he felt guilty still.
"Thanks. I am an amazing cook and I thought I would just do something to contribute more. Lately I've just been watching you work."
"Amu, you're pregnant. I don't expect a lot from you. You've helped enough. You helped me knit the children clothes, and get other donations from people. You have to rest at some point."
Amu sighed, taking a seat. Thandeka took one next to her. "You're right," she caressed her belly. "I can't wait for this little one to come out."
"Don't rush the process," Thandeka said, chuckling at Amukelani's impatience. "I've heard once they're out, you'll want them back in."
Amu laughed, "not me. I want him/her out. Plus, being a mother is a great experience for many so I would prefer him out than in me."
"Is this your first pregnancy?"
Amu's breath hitched before she coughed. "Uhm... I.. no. No, it's not." She stuttered. She took a drink from the water bottles they had.
Thandeka was surprised. "Really? What happened?"
"It's a long story. But all you have to know is that he's no more. He was still young when he passed and I don't like talking about what happened so can we... can we leave it there?" She swallowed as memories rushed back. Lethokuhle's death was forever going to haunt her.
"Of course," she squeezed Amu's shoulder. "Let's get the show started."
. . .
Qophelo had been staying in his cabin with the other warriors again. He had been working with his father a lot on taking over the Khoza Kingdom and learning the ropes on everything. He was also spending time with his mother and getting to know the person she was. He had introduced Amukelani to them and told her the truth. It was an emotional moment.
