"Nearly all men can stand adversity but if you want to test a man's character, give him power."
Third Omniscient Point Of View
_____
-previous night-
Thandeka slowly descended the stairs as she spotted Qophelo in one of the chairs. His eyes were on her and she could see that she'd outdone herself. It was a small meeting but she wanted it to be one of lasting. She was going to talk to him and get to know him. Determination was key.
She smiled as he stood up and pulled a chair for her. She sat down next to him, in the chair, and stared expectantly at her parents. The King, her father, cleared his throat and looked at Qophelo. "I congratulate you once more on the victory, Khumalo. Mntungwa."
"Thank you, Ndabezitha. It means so much coming from you."
Nxebalendoda nodded. "My Princess here is getting wed to Zwelibanzi Nkabinde. He worked in the city but has moved to take over this side and handle things with his father before he officially becomes King. I don't know him well but I do know his father and I trust his father. And now, I trust you. We all don't know what awaits her after she leaves but I want a peace of mind knowing she is well taken care of. That is your job. Guard and protect her. Make sure she is safe at all times. It's going to be a new world, new people, foreign land, and I want her to not worry because she has you by her side."
Qophelo listened attentively to the King's speech and he bowed when he was finished speaking. "I promise, Ndabezitha." He looked at Thandeka who was already looking at him. "I will guard her with my life."

-days later-
Everyone was present to witness the Princess get married. Including her brother, Siyabonga. He opened the door and found her sitting on a chair with at least three ladies pampering her before the big event. "Thandi!" He exclaimed.
Thandeka turned slightly and the ladies moved to give them space. She gasped before squealing. "Siya!" She jumped in his arms and squeezed him for dear life.
Siya laughed happily and hugged her back. The ladies individually marvelled at the Prince's physique. He had been gone so long. Everyone understood that it was to further his education. No one believed that an uneducated Prince could lead an entire village. It sounded absurd.
"You look gorgeous. Very beautiful." He complimented with a soft smile. Thandeka twirled, showing him her dress. It did suit her and compliment her body. It was no secret that Thandeka was a beautiful woman with a beautiful body.
"Thank you. Do mom and dad know you're back?"
"Yes. Nothing gets passed your controlling father and nosy mother." Siya said. They laughed together.
"Did you come to wish me a happy wedding and leave?" Thandeka asked, sitting back and letting the ladies continue with her minimal make up.
"Ouch." Siya shook his head. "That's definitely not it. I want to meet loZweli and determine if he is the right one for you."
Thandeka laughs at his words before apologising to the ladies for moving. "On the day of the wedding?" She giggles again. "What can you stop if he's not the right guy? Hundreds are coming to see the Princess get married. You are going to prevent that? What about the aftermath? Your parents are going to be on your case about it. And don't forget the never ending questions from the community."
