Clay POV.
After I found George I needed to decide what payback was going to be. It was hard to come up with an idea and I spent the rest of the day thinking about it. Now it was nearly midnight, I was laying on my bed in the dark staring at the ceiling and thinking.
My mind came up with an idea as I thought back to the conversation I had with George and his parents, and what his dad had said on Wednesday."I thought you said you both only had 2 days of detention left?" George's mother asked, and her husband was clearly thinking the same thing.
"Well, Mrs Davidson, I do have more detention next week. However, the principal offered me a decreased detention sentence if I agreed to join the school football team.""And so, based on what Georgie said, you agreed?" Mr Davidson guessed.
"I haven't agreed to anything, he thinks I should play." I replied defensively.George was nodding in agreement with me from the corner of my eyes and I heard his father sigh. "It's fine. And plus, George needs something to do besides reading all the time, he could sign up to be a male cheerleader, I think he'd look stunning in a dress." George's father joked, causing the me to laugh and my George to glare angrily as his face grew red.
Cheerleader. That's a perfect idea, good way of getting revenge without to much humiliation, unless I can force him into a skirt as his cheerleader uniform.
I fell asleep thinking about how embarrassed Georgie would be and how funny it would be to see him doing tricks with cheerleading pom-poms.
George POV.
The next morning.I sat in the passenger seat of the car feeling worried. Clay sat smirking as he drove opposite me and it made me uneasy, he was scheming something and I knew it.
We pulled up at the school and were once again met with the crowd of girls. You'd think after 2 weeks they'd be bored of waiting around for Clay when he was clearly not interested, but maybe they think 'he'll come around and love me soon'.
I tried mumbling something to the blond about going to the library, but before I could move out of his reach Clay clasped his hand on my shoulder firmly."I have a suprise for you Georgie." He cooed in his annoying, cocky voice. I gave him a weird look, raising one eyebrow.
"Should I be worried?"
He smiled at me, "no of course not."Bullshit.
"I'll show you the surprise at lunch." He continued.
"Then why do you have too-"
"Because I want to spend time with you before you hate me.... Plus it's my job."
My eyebrows furrowed, "that's what I don't like about this."He looked at me, amused and confused at the same time. "What? Do you mean you don't like the fact that this is my job?"
"No, the fact that I will hate you after this, what are you playing at?" I eyed the blond suspiciously as he just shrugged his shoulders. At lunch
Throughout the classes my eyes kept trailing over to Clay, what was he planning? Whatever it was he knew I wouldn't like it and that made me even more suspicious.
I thought back to after I pranked Clay yesterday and then hid in the indoor pool.
I ducked behind a large potted fern. This was far from the best hiding place in this room, but it was close to the door for a quick escape and large enough so that if he wasn't looking carefully he may walk right past me.
Quietly, I nestled into my corner and listed as muffled voices and distant footsteps walked up and down the hall outside of the room.I stayed there for about 20 minutes, although it felt like 20 hours. My legs were feeling numb from the crouching position I was in and I knew that I would be in no state to run. Thankfully, there was still no sign of the blond.
Why would Clay come here straight away anyway? There are 3 other stories he could be on plus the gardens out the back. Who even said I was going to stay at the house, as far as he's concerned I may be running into town to hide in a cafe or something.
That's when I heard it. Someone was standing outside the room in the hallway, then I heard the door open. My breath got shakey as I saw the blond walking into the room, his bare feet making him almost silent as he walked across the cold tile floor.
A playful, cheeky grin was plastered on Clay's face as his eyes traveled around the room and his eyes met mine for a moment before breaking away.He didn't see me. I exhaled as he walked out of the room but if I'd been playing closer attention I would have seem a devious smirk on his face.
Once he left I waited a moment before standing and stretching, a dumb decision on my part, but I needed to move my legs from that uncomfortable position. I also was too dumb to notice that the door was still open just a tiny crack, and that a green eye was peering through it, watching me."Found ya George!" Clay announced proudly as he pushed open the door and came back into the room, a smug look on his face.
Without responding I just ran to the opposite side of the room, where a set of glass doors opened onto an outdoor patio which I ran onto. The blond was probably twice as fast as me and closed the gap as I ran over the lawn over the soft grass.Soon I felt the wind knocked out of me as Clay tackled me, pinning my down as I lay on my stomach against the grass. "Caught you." He laughed teasingly as he leaned closer to me.
"Get off." I growled at him.
Suprisingly enough, he did, and I sat up beside him as we both knelt on the grass, both still panting slightly from running all the way here."Why did you tackle me?" I asked between long breaths.
"Why did you run?" He asked back.
"Cause you said you were gonna get payback, so that was me running for my life."
Clay laughed, and I felt myself tense up a bit. "I wasn't gonna get payback now, but soon. Just be ready."
His tone scared me, but he stood up and offered me a hand as though he didn't just threaten me.Still those words made me worry.
"-George, come on, we need to go so I can show you that suprise." Clay was shaking my shoulder and the rest of the class had begun filing out of the room headed to lunch.
I sighed slightly as I stood up and followed Clay out of the classroom. Once we were in the hallway he had his hand resting on my shoulder."Is that really necessary?" I asked him, glancing at the hand on my shoulder as he directed me towards the sports complex where the gym and sport offices were located.
"Just making sure you don't run off before I show you the suprise."
That scares me a little, "why would I run?"
The blond didn't answer, just showing off that annoying smirk of his. "Clay, why would I run?" I repeated, but still got no response. He directed me to one of the offices and I shot him a glare when I read the sign beside the door.
