George POV.

Clay waked through the mall with me following close behind. The blond turned to me, "are you ready for your surprise?"
I nodded, growing increasingly curious as he lead me through the mall, weaving between small groups of people. Couples on a date, elderly men and women chatting to their friends and mothers pushing around small children in prams as they headed out on their weekly grocery trip.

The blond lead me upstairs, holding my hand in his and we walked past a bunch of shops, cafe's and many others. Before heading any further he stopped me for a minute, "is there anything else you want to do first, before I show you you're surprise?"

I glanced around, seeing if there was anything I wanted to do first, and trying one more attempt to guess what he might want to do. He was watching me as I turned back and shook my head. "Cool." Clay smiled as he began walking again, "close your eyes then George."

I raised an eyebrow, "are you absolutely sure that you're not gonna murder me Pillow?"
Clay let out a chuckle in response to my question, "I'm sure. Now shut your damn eyes."

My eyes shut and I could feel him slowly guiding me, leading me towards some random shop, (or to murder me). The blond made sure not to go to fast so I wouldn't trip or anything. "Are we almost there?"
Clay hummed in reply as he continued directing me, part of me wanted to open my eyes but I decided not.

Eventually Clay stopped walking and told me to stop as well, then he allowed me to open my eyes.
Slowly I did as he said and opened them, only to see the blond standing right in front of me.
"Okay, you brought me here, now what?" I asked him.
The blond rolled his eyes and then pointed at a sign behind me, when I turned I admit I was surprised.

There was a pet store. Big windows and glass doors allowed everyone to see into the large shop. A few people were walking around, looking at animals or animal products such as food and toys.

I looked back over to Clay who was smirking childishly at me, he began walking into the shop and turned back to look at me. "Come on" he said beckoning for me to follow him.

We both headed inside and I was met of a smell reminiscent of hay, and there was a lot of noise filling the store. The chatter and squawk of birds between their cages, the yaps and whimpers of excited dogs playing with eachother in pens in the centre of the room and the cats sitting on or using scratching posts.

I looked over to him with questioning eyes and he just looked back at me with that same childish smirk, "are you gonna go pick out an animal?"
"Wait what?"
"Are you going to go and pick out an animal to take home with us?" Clay asked again.

My eyes studied him for a minute before turning and beginning to walk down an aisle towards the animals at the back of the store. Clay followed right behind me as we headed past a shelf stacked with dog toys, but I barely glanced in the direction of the toys, instead heading straight to the animals at the back.

Once I reached the small play pen in the centre of the store. It was filled with 5 puppies running around and playing with eachother, play fighting over the ground and nipping at eachother's ears.

I leaned over the edge and reached my hand to pat one of them, a small dog with milky brown fur, dotted with darker brown spots and amber eyes. His tongue was lolling out the side of his mouth and he wagged his tail excitedly. I giggled at his actions as he spun around, tail still wagging, and licked my hand.

Clay joined me soon after and lowered his hand down beside mine. The small dog turned over to him and sniffed the hem of the blond's hoodies sleeve curiously. The other puppies grew excited at the two new people and bounded over to us, all wanting their share of love and attention, and we began patting them all.

I noticed the blond seemed to quite enjoy patting one with cream coloured fur and (I'm assuming) green eyes that were a similar shade to Clay's. Honestly I wanted to take them all home, but I knew it wouldn't be easy to look after one puppy, let alone five.

"I'm gonna go check out something else." I told the blond, who didn't seem to notice me talking.
I rolled my eyes at how he acted around the dog as I walked off to another part of the store.
If Clay was going to buy me a pet then I needed to choose wisely, I thought this over as I walked past cages of Guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, rats and mice, barely looking at them as I continued on.

The next place I stopped as I walked past animal cages was the tanks. I always wanted to have a fish ever since I took the classes pet fish home for the week. Her name was Sally and she was a salmon, but she apparently went missing (or died or something, it's kind of unclear) when she was at Wilbur's house.

After a few minutes of staring mindlessly at the fish, I decided to continue walking again. There was a window looking into a seperate room that I peered into, and I admit I silently died from the cuteness when I saw what was in there.

A trio of kittens were climbing around on a small climbing tower in the middle of the room, one with ginger fur, one with black fur and a third one which was hairless.
In the corner of the room was a fourth kitten, tabby grey fur and light green, probably almost yellow eyes.

Immediately I fell in love with it, and stood watching as it stayed curled up with it's tail twitching slightly. After a few minutes Clay found me and looked over into the corner I was looking in.

"Have you made your decision?" I looked over to him as he asked. The blond watched as I nodded and looked over to the cat in the corner.
Clay nodded with a smile and then left to go find someone who worked there.

When Clay returned he was with an employee in an ugly yellow shirt with the store logo printed on in hot pink, the man pulled a set of keys from his pocket and unlocked the door, heading into the room. I watched as the employee picked up the kitten carefully and carried it out of the room. He put it in a blue and white pet carrier that Clay was holding.

Fast forward 10 minutes and we had everything we needed, food, toys, food bowl and some other stuff, and Clay and I were sitting in the Ferrari, about to leave with the cat in her carrier by my feet.

Clay looked over at the crate where she was meowing loudly, probably not enjoying the fact she was in a small box, "what are you going to call her?" He asked me.
I shrugged my shoulders and looked over to him, "I'm not sure, do you have any ideas?"

The blond looked at the small cat thoughtfully for a moment. "How about Patches?"
