Clay POV.
We walked for about 20 minutes in an awkward silence. George still seemed sceptical that I had asked him to the movies. Eventually we ended up in front of a cinema made of sandstone, a sign reading 'The Regal Theatre' hung above the door.
It would look something like this but bigger and less windows.
We paused in front of the front door of the building and examined the movie posters, I thought out loud as we looked over them, "so we'll probably go to the comedy right? Or would you prefer the action?"
"Why just those two?" The brunette asked, eyeing me curiously.
"Just figured you wouldn't want to go to a romance and you don't seem brave enough for a horror movie."
"I am so brave enough." George objected.
I felt myself smirk knowing I was annoying him, "Prove it then."Before I could do anything the brunette grabbed my arm and pulled me inside, "2 tickets for that new horror movie being advertised." George told the lady with a smug look, then he turned to me, "I'm so confident I can get through the movie I'll even pay for it. Now want some food?" He asked as he pulled some money out of his pockets to pay.
I nodded and pointed to the image of a large box of popcorn, which the lady grabbed. She handed us our tickets as George passed her some cash and directed us towards cinema 3 where the adverts were just starting to play.
"This movie is almost 3 hours long George, you sure you can last that long?" I asked the brunette as a trailer for some action movie played.
"Confident," he replied, as he grabbed a handful of popcorn and ate it quickly. The cinema was almost deserted and so we got to sit in the front of the large screen. We talked for a few minutes before the movie started playing.
It started off simple, nothing too scary just back story stuff. Out of the corner of my eyes I saw George grow tense, but he eased up slightly when no jumpscares happened instantly.
We were about 20 minutes in when we witnessed a man being brutally decapitated by the killer, and the brunette began tensing up beside me. He was trembling slightly and I leaned over to him, "we can leave now if you aren't brave enough Georgie." I whispered in his ear.
The Brit shook his head and kept his eyes on the screen, although they shone with worry. I just rolled my eyes and scoffed another handful of popcorn, before turning back to the movie.
We were now an hour in, and George sat there biting his lip and looking nervous. Suddenly there was a jumpscare on the screen, when the killer decapitated a girl in a cabin, sending her blood showering over the wooden walls.
George let out a squeak and burried his head in my hoodie, shaking slightly and whimpering against me.I chuckled at his action, "you still good Georgie? We could go buy tickets for another movie instead if you want."
"Nope I'm good, just give me a minute." He didn't move away from me as he spoke and so I sat with him there clinging onto me for dear life, struggling to focus on the movie.Every time a loud scream could be heard in the movie George's shaking grew faster and he burried his head deeper into my hoodie. At some point during the movie I wrapped my arm around his back and he pushed me off. "I'm fine." He growled sitting up and trying to look casual, before turning his attention back to the screen.
"Uh-huh, sure." I replied not believing him at all. This newfound braveness in the Brit was short-lived. Less than a minute later a gruesome scene came on where the killer ripped someone's eyes out and George hid his head against my again as I leaned forward in excitement.
I had always enjoyed horror films and this was the sequel to my favourite film. George didn't find it exciting though, I heard him mumble something along the lines of 'you're psychotic' against my chest as I nestled back into the chair.
That was the position we stayed in for the rest of the movie, and George didn't seem to care that I knew he wasn't brave anymore. When the credits began rolling I gently nudged him away from me. "How was that?" I asked, looking at him with a smirk.
"Fine." He said through gritted teeth as he turned to the screen and began reading names of the cast."Cool, cool, cool. Ok then." I said nonchalantly, "there is a bonus scene at the end, a teaser trailer for the next movie which is rumoured to be the most bloody and gruesome yet."
"Nope!" With that the brunette grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the cinema."So we won't be going to the third movie in the series when it comes out?" I joked before getting an elbow to the ribs.
It was dark outside and growing quite cold as we walked down the streets towards the car.
George was still shaking, but now it was from the cold, for some reason he wasn't wearing a jersey. Slowly I pulled my hoodie over my head and handed it too him. He looked surprised but I told him to put it on sternly, which he did.George POV.
I dragged the blond out of the cinema and let go of him. "So we won't be going to the 3rd movie when it comes out?" Clay asked, with an overly sad but playful voice.
He was met with an elbow to the ribs and groaned in pain as we walked along the cold, dark street.Obviously, I hadn't expected to be out this late, and so I didn't have warm clothes, only wearing a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. I wrapped my arms around my chest to try and warm myself when I saw Clay taking off his hoodie beside me.
He pushed the item of clothing into my hands and I looked up at him, giving him a questioning glance. "Put it on now, I don't want you getting cold." His voice seemed emotionless as he watched me pull on the hoodie.
The second it was on me I felt way warmer, but still it didn't block the cold out completely, especially when the wind began sending a cold chill down the road. Without knowing why I leaned into Clay to try and keep warmer, and he let me. Once we were at the car he climbed into the drivers seat and I did the same to the passenger's seat, shivering as the cold leather touched my back.
We drove back towards the mansion as Clay explained the entire plot of the movie in dark, extra gory details. I kept telling at him to shut up because I saw the movie with him, but we both knew I told him to be quiet because I found the movie terrifying.
Finally the blue Ferrari pulled into the garage and I happily stepped into the manor, grateful that I could escape that conversation and I quickly disappeared upstairs. I leaned against my bedroom door listening to Clay talking to my mother in the hallway outside about why we were so late.
"We went to see a movie, that's why we were so late." The blonds words were partially muffled yet still clear.
"Oh that's lovely Mr Smith, was it good?" My mother asked.
"Please don't call me Mr Smith." Clay requested, "but yes. It was good, in fact me and Georgie are going to one of the same genre next week.""No we are not!" I called through the door causing the pair to laugh.
I heard them continue the conversation but I grew bored of it and went to the bed before jumping onto it.
It was about then that I realised how tired I was so I grudgingly stood back up to get changed. I noticed that I had never given Clay back his hoodie and it was still lying comfortably on my slender frame. He wouldn't mind if I kept it till morning right? I didn't think so. So after I changed into some pyjama bottoms to sleep in I pulled the hoodie over my bare chest and climbed back into the bed.
I just hoped that horror movie won't give me nightmares.
