"From now on, we walk to school together!" read that note that Emma handed Ray that morning.

As soon as he had set foot on campus, she had waved her hand at him energetically and gave him a shopping bag, which contained a uniform, a school bag and a lot of working supplies.

"What is this?" - He asked, confused. - "Why am I receiving all this stuff?"

"You are going to attend the academy again. You gotta have decent clothing and materials!" she signed.

"Say what? How?! Emma. We both know I am not coming to school."

Apparently, the teen with apricot hairs predicted this reaction on his behalf, so she handed the boy a note.

"I convinced the principal to let you come to school for free. The materials and umiforms are a bonus."

Ray looked at her, dumb-struck. Had he finally gotten lucky?

"Let's not be late to class!" Emma told him, and off they left to what would be the re-start of the black-haired boy's academic life in Grace field Academy.

And the end of someone else's.

--

"Ray, the principal wants to talk with you."

Fearing the worst, he walked to the office where the evil woman worked in.

"It's good that your parents payed the fees. It would have been a pity if you wasted your life working as a shop clerk just because you lacked a proper education."

"My parents... payed?"

"Yes. A girl, Emma, notified me about it. They left the money while I was out."

Ray knew two things;

Number one; his parents didn't pay anything.

Number two, his friend was up to something.

When school ended, he cornered the girl and questioned her.

She denied being involucrated.

"Then who payed?! Don't tell me it was Legravalima cause I won't believe that shit."

Emma stayed quiet and started walking away, however, she didn't make it to her destiny because her aunt grabbed her by the wrist, and for once started talking, no, shouting to her.

Legravalima kept ranting about how her niece's grades had dropped and how she was useless if she wasn't top student.

And Emma? She looked down at the floor, clenching her wrists weakly. She was too exhausted for this.

When she was done ranting, the principal dragged a sad-looking girl to her car and slammed the door shut, leaving the boy, who had witnessed everything, behind.

What if Emma...?

What if Emma payed for my school fee?
