When You Remember

Chapter 14- Hook

I sit on the chair besides Emma's hospital bed as she soundly sleeps through the day. Sunny and Oliver are at daycare and I don't want them to be worried about Emma. I know they both won't really know what's going on but I would like to keep it that way.

I hear the beep of her heart beat as her chest raises up and down. My foot is tapping on the ground to the rate as I slowly chew through my finger nails from just pure nervousness.

"How is she?" David asks as he comes and pulls a chair next to me.

"I don't know" I reply still rapping my foot.

"It's happened before and with everything that's going on with this mystery person in this house, we need to take things more seriously" Snow says as she stands on the other side of the bed. She slowly strokes Emma's hand and stares at her deeply.

"She'll be fine, we just need to watch her" David says looking down at her.

I stare at Emma's sleeping body. I don't feel like anything is going to be alright. I feel like something is happening and I can't do anything about it. I feel like something horrible is about to happen and that's what scares me, not being able to save the Saviour.

"Killian, why don't you go and pick up Sunny and Oliver. We'll stay and watch Emma and call Henry to tell him what's happening. Now go" David says basically shoving me out the door.

I give Emma one last look before heading out the door.

I walk towards the Daycare and see a ton of people picking up their kid. I see Sunny and do the traditional pick up.

"My dear sweet maiden" I smile as Sunny lets out a shriek and turns to me. "Please come home with me."

"Daddy!" Sunny screams.

I kneel down and open up my arms. Sunny comes running to me and runs straight into me. She hugs me with all her might, which isn't much,

"Hi Captain Dad" Ariel says as she walks up to me.

I know what you must be thinking, I threw Ariel off my ship and she should hate me right, well, no. We worked everything out and after saving Eric's life, she decided it was only right but to forgive me.

The reason she opened a daycare was because she wasn't able to have kids of her own, she thought that she could take care of others peoples kids and still feel like a some-what mom. Emma and I completely backed up her up, because we thought it was an amazing idea and a good thing for Ariel, but also because we needed a daycare for Sunny and Oliver.

"Hey Part time Mermaid" I say standing up and taking Oliver from Ariel's arms.

"How was these two pirates today?" I ask.

"Daddy I'm a princess" Sunny says exasperated.

Ariel giggles and I correct myself. "How was this pirate and Princess today?"

Sunny nods in approval and Ariel looks like she's about to loose it. "They were great" she giggles. "Sunny painted some very nice pictures and shared all her toys with the other girls and boys."

"Hey great job kiddo" I smile ruffling her blonde hair.

"And Oliver took a full nap today and ate all his food with no fuss" Ariel smiles.

"The way you watch all these kids and know everything they do at all times is incredible" I smile at her.

"I try my best" she smiles.

"Well I better go take these two munchkins home" I say looking down at Sunny and then to Oliver in my arms.

"See you tomorrow and don't forget Sunny to practice the alphabet before you go to bed" Ariel says squatting down next to Sunny.
