This chapter is dedicated to @kgatti for you asked for a chapter like this when we first started talking about this book. Well Kayla, here it is, your dream chapter.
~.~
I give out a shaky breath as I sit on my couch as I wait for Kayla to come home. I told her every Monday we would do lessons and its Monday. She was a little shocked when I told her about me and Robin but her face turned from shocked to happiness. She was quite pleased when I told her I was seeing Robin, her exact words were “Finally! Now you put yourself out there! I was thinking we were going to get some cats soon!” Cats, honestly Kayla.
Kayla walks in skipping as she hums towards me.
“Hello mother” she smiles as she skips into the kitchen.
“Mother? Isn’t that a bit formal” I ask a little taken back by her happiness.
“Because it’s a beautiful day and mother describes the happiness of people with money, and I am happy, so I shall call you mother” Kayla bows.
“What has gotten in to you today?” I giggle.
“Nothing” she smiles.
“Well something has” I smile walking over to her.
I take her by surprise and start to tickle her. She laughs and starts to shake rapidly.
“Stop! Stop!” she screams through giggles.
“I’ll only stop if you tell me what has gotten you so happy” I smile as I continue to tickle her.
“Please please!” Kayla screams through a laugh. “I’ll tell you! I’ll tell you!”
I stop tickling her and give out a shaky laugh. Kayla is one of the most ticklish person I have ever known. It’s very funny because when she was little I could always get what I wanted out of her just by tickling her. And now ladies and gentlemen, I use this tactic when my daughter is thirteen, not four.
“I got an A+ on my family presentation” Kayla smiles.
“Oh hunny that’s amazing!” I smile at her.
“There were some bumps but I still got that A I wanted” Kayla smiles.
“Bumps? What bumps?” I ask a little concerned.
“It didn’t go all according to plan but I got an A. See! An A!” Kayla tries to distract me.
“And I’m happy you got an A, but please explain these bumps” I ask.
“Just a little bicker no biggy” Kayla fake laughs.
“A little bicker? Knowing you Kayla it wasn’t, little” I say staring at her.
“She said something during my presentation” Kayla smiles, “and I left to collect myself and then came back and presented. And see, I got an A” Kayla fake laughs shoving the paper with the A+ sign on it in my face.
“And what exactly did Tiffany say?” I ask.
“How do you know it was Tiffany?!” Kayla shrieks.
“Because I know my daughter and you only ever bicker with Tiffany” I say.
“Maybe it was that girl who I never talk to” Kayla says crossing her arms over her chest.
“Or maybe it was Tiffany, wait, it was Tiffany” I smile sweetly at my daughter.
“Okay maybe it was Tiffany but that doesn’t mean it was horrible” she smiles weakly.
