'What's wrong? Why do you look so stressed?' Kim asks after I pulled her away from Micheal and Clay. 'I Uhm.... I don't know how to explain this, but Uhm.... I-I.' Kim grabs my hand and shakes me around as if it'll get me back. 'Slow down and tell me.' He says.

'Me and Clay did it.'

The words fly out and I doubt she'll understand what I said. 'So?' She asks. 'That was like, I don't know, five or six days ago.' I start. 'So?' She continues to ask. 'I've been getting nauseous at the smell of certain food and I randomly threw up this morning.' I say. Her eyes widen. 'You have a baby, tell me what the hell is wrong!' I whisper yell as I grab her shoulders.

'Sit down.'

I do as she says and sit down on the pier at the small lake, Kim sitting down next to me. 'Did you do a test?' She asks. 'No! Are you out of your mind, I didn't even give it a thought.' I say. 'Well I had these symptoms, so you may want to get a test.' She says. I throw my head back before covering it with my hands and groaning into them.

When I uncover them I'm met with the blue sky and green leaves from the tree behind us. I let out a breath. 'What if it's positive?' I ask, my voice having grown small. 'Then it's positive. Technically your own fault as well.' Eve says with a slight grin, but her expression changes when I meet her eyes with worry. 'Do you not.... want it to be?' She asks carefully. 'I don't know.' I say as I move to sit crossed legged. I truly haven't thought about how life would be, and how things would work.

'What if this is all a mistake. And if I'm, ya know... then what.' I mumble the last part quietly. 'You have a lot of options, but you can't hide it all from Clay, that would be unfair.' Kim says. I sigh and look behind me. No one in sight. A gentle and warm breeze goes through my hair and over my skin, creating a strange comfort. 'But maybe it's negative.' I say. 'Yeah, maybe it is.' Kim says as she tosses a small stone into the water, letting the surface break and the water ripple.
