2| Rooftop
Jeongguk groaned as he got ripped out of his precious sleep by the loud ringing of his phone. Without opening his eyes, he stretched his arm out to grab the annoying rectangle device from his wooden cupboard next to his bed. For a second he remembered wanting to get rid of the cupboard and to buy a new one, but he discarded that thought, picking up the call.
"Hello?" he groggily said, eyes still close, his head halfaway sinking into his pillow, the comfort it offered making him want to sleep again.
"Gguk, hey!"
The groggy mood from before instantly vanished by the sound of the voice of his favorite person. "Hey, bub. What's up?" he answered.
"You sound dead, were you still sleeping? You know school starts in twenty minutes."
"Yeah and you know that I care about that as much as I care about an insect's death- so what's up, why you callin'?"
"First of all, this will be the second time this week that you're gonna be late for college, please don't do this to yourself."
Jeongguk smiled lightly, hearing the older male worrying about him. "It's okay, Tae. So how do I get honored with your voice so early in the morning?"
A scoff could be heard from the other line and it made Jeongguk just smile more. "Honored my ass. I wanted to ask if you could bring my maths book when you come to college. I forgot it at yours yesterday."
"Sure thing, did you pack lunch?"
"..."
"You forgot again, didn't you?" chuckling, Jeongguk finally sat up, knowing his hair is messy and probably stands out in every possible direction.
"I'm sorry" Taehyung whined, "everything is just stressing me so much lately, we have exams next week."
"We do?" Jeongguk retorted, hearing a gasp from the other line. "How could you not know? You're so dumb, gguk!," Taehyung shouted in shock, amusing the younger male.
"I'm joking, I know about it. I'll start studying a day before, it'll work out-
"You're frustrating," Taehyung interrupted him and Jeongguk could just imagine the way the blond was massaging his forehead, eyebrows furrowed.
"Anyways, be here before maths and bring me my book."
"Okay, I'll bring lunch for yo-" but the phone call cut, Jeongguk hearing only the two beep sounds that signaled the end of the call.
He sighed.
"Time to get out of bed and make lunch, Bunny."
"Ugh, why is he like that," Taehyung grumbled after the phone call, stuffing the device into the pocket of his jacket.
He was in front of the building, a sigh leaving his lips as he looked to the huge door, that was a few stair steps away from him.
"He better not forget my book.." He mumbled to himself, stepping up the the few stairs until reaching the wooden door, pushing that heavy thing aside.
He took a deep breath after finally being in, cursing at the door. "I should just teleport next time, that shit's heavy.
Jeon Jeongguk was a normal 19 years old college student with a tragic past. The dark haired and constantly dark clothed male had a secret though. He was a villain.
Bunny in fact.
Taehyung, being 20 years old, doesn't know that. The same way as Jeongguk doesn't know that his blonde best friend was Vante, the hero.
They were best friends and secretly enemies.
It just happened for them to not know that.
First class, music, terminated faster than Taehyung had expected it to, but Jeongguk, and therefore his maths book for next class, had not arrived yet. Taehyung sighs as he stuffed his music books into his locker, closed the metallic door and pulled out his phone to call said male. The younger can be really annoying.
But before he could click on Jeongguk's contact and dial his number, someone decided to scare the shit out of him by back hugging him and lifting him off the ground. "You asshole, let me down!" Taehyung squeaked knowing really well that there is only one person ever to do that to him.
His suspicions got confirmed when he heard the melodic laughter of his best friend, as the strong arms let him down again. Taehyung turned around, now laughing too as he smiles up to the slightly taller male.
"Good morning sleepyhead, are you up now?"
Jeongguk chuckled, ruffling Taehyung's hair, to which he pouted. "Pretty much, yeah. This is yours, no?"
Relief ran through Taehyung as Jeongguk held up his maths book. "Thank god, for a moment I believed you forgot it."
"No I didn't, but..." Jeongguk scratched the back of his head, smiling sheepishly and Taehyung raised an eyebrow, reading Jeongguk like an open book. "But you forgot yours, right?"
Jeongguk smiled innocently, pressing his lips tightly together, making light dimples appear.
"It's okay, we'll work it out. Let's go to class first," the older said, grabbing Jeongguk's hand to pull him with him.
Jeongguk chuckled, following his best friend.
And he blushed.
It isn't like he never holds hands with Taehyung- the older male is really affectionate, doesn't hesitate to give Jeongguk pecks on cheeks and forehead, cuddle him or generally show him how much he loves him- but the thing is, Taehyung saw Jeongguk as his best friend only.
Jeongguk saw a little more in Taehyung.
Always had, in fact.
So small acts like these always drive him, the supposedly coldhearted school heartthrob that rejects everyone, crazy. Taehyung drives him crazy.
But he won't overstep any boundaries and hell, he'd never tell taehyung about his feelings for him, scared to risk their friendship.
Arriving to their class, the two were confused to see other students packing their stuff in instead of packing them out. "Huh, what's wrong?" Taehyung questioned and a girl that heard him smiled warmly at him. "Oh, Mrs. Song turns out to be sick, so no maths today," she explained.
Taehyung smiled back and thanked her, before turning to his best friend, who looked after that girl with an annoyed look. "No maths, Gguk, we don't have to worry about your book," the blond smiled and Jeongguk finally smiled too.
"So what do you wanna do in that time?" The raven questioned and Taehyung thought for a moment, before smiling as an idea crossed his mind.
"What did you pack for lunch, I know you packed for me too." He giggled, Jeongguk melting here and there on the spot by the angelic sound.
"Dumplings," he answered and Taehyung smiled wider.
"We can spend the time on the rooftop, like we used to and eat them," Taehyung suggested, calling up the cute memories he and Jeongguk had there a year or two ago.
Not many students know the entrance to the rooftop, the two always hung up there alone.
"Sounds good, I love chilling on rooftops." Jeongguk responded.
Taehyung scoffed internally, getting reminded on a certain villain. "Yeah, with the right person, I do love it too."
