next day
"There is no indication to human acting, the fire was probably caused by a lack in the pipes or water getting in contact with electricity. Luckily, both houses that ended up burned down completely, were not lived in anymore. The tragic incident occurred last night around two in the morning in southern Seoul. The police still investigates-"
"Are you watching the news?" Taehyung asked as he entered the bedroom, seeing Jeongguk on the bed lying on hid back, one arm behind his head, while the other held his phone.
The younger male hummed, putting the device away when Taehyung approached him. "They're talking about the fire."
Taehyung smiled a little, laying down next to Jeongguk, instantly getting enclosed into his arms. Cuddling is Taehyung's favorite thing.
"Do you feel more at ease?"
"I feel so much more at ease," Jeongguk explained, brushing his hand up and down Taehyung's back. "It felt good."
"Good?" Taehyung giggled. "It felt amazing. Freeing."
"I wonder where they are." Taehyung didn't need to think to know Jeongguk referred to their parents.
"I don't know and I don't care," he responded. "C'mon now, I made breakfast."
Jeongguk smiled, holding Taehyung in place. "I need to tell you something first."
Taehyung raised an eyebrow, propping his arm on Jeongguk's chest. "What is?"
"The other day, I had no dentist appointment."
The blond looked confused at his boyfriend, suddenly feeling uneasy. Jeongguk lied to him? But why-
"I got a job. A modeling Job for this Tattoo studio and they pay a really, I mean really high amount of money monthly."
Taehyung's eyes lit up. "That's amazing! Your handsomeness is paying off now, huh?" He mocked with a giggle, the uneasy feeling from earlier gone like the wind.
Jeongguk rolled his eyes, refraining from tickling Taehyung, as he liked the way the older was lying on top of him. "There's this thing though..."
Taehyung tilted his head. "What thing?"
"We talked about moving out of Seoul, right? The job-
"Don't worry, Gguk. We don't have to leave Seoul if you found a job here. We can also start new here."
Jeongguk blinked. "Really?"
Taehyung smiled warmly. He really doesn't care.
As long as Jeongguk is happy.
"Well, I was going to say the job is in Ilsan," he smirked, "That sounds better than Seoul."
Taehyung's eyes widened. "Ilsan? That's amazing. That's perfect!" He gave Jeongguk a hard kiss kn the lips out of impulse. "You are perfect. Seriously, you're the best."
Jeongguk laughed out loud throughout Taehyung's whole outburst.
"Once we're done with school, we'll move out of here," Jeongguk said and Taehyung smiled, drowning in the other's embrace.
"I love you," the blond whispered, looking straight into the younger's eyes.
No matter how often he hears it and how often Taehyung had proven it to him, Jeongguk will probably never get used to the skip in his heartbeat whenever Taehyung confesses like this.
A fond spark grazed Jeongguk's eyes and he reached his hand up to Taehyung's face, brushing his cheek softly with his thumb. "I love you, too."
"You know... our story has been really complicated if you think about it."
Jeongguk raised an eyebrow at the sudden change in topic. "Yeah?"
"I mean," Taehyung giggled, placing his head on Jeongguk's chest. "You were always my best friend, we grew up together, we spent every second of our lives together, all the precious moments. Yet.. in the darkest times we couldn't be together and suddenly we are hero and villain and we both don't tell each other.."
It was a nice feeling now. It used to hurt him to talk about the past, but now Jeongguk felt more at ease talking about it. It even feels nice to reminisce about all the time with Taehyung.
"Gosh, I gave you so many blue eyes as bunny and you'd always say you just had a fight in school," Taehyung laughed and Jeongguk smiled.
"At least I don't have to be worried about you not being able to defend yourself," he marked and Taehyung chuckled.
"Me neither. Look at you having grown like this. Stop working out," Taehyung commented, to which Jeongguk rolled his eyes.
"I'm pretty sure you like it."
"I'm pretty sure, that you're right about that."
"See?" Jeongguk smiled. He breathed in Taehyung's near and let out all the stress in his heart. "What would I do without you?"
"Certainly not be able to use your powers." The mocking tone in Taehyung's voice made Jeongguk roll his eyes once again.
"Certainly not that." He reached for Taehyung's hand, intertwining their fingers. His eyes fell on the light blue diamond ring on Taehyung's hand and the shiny orange one in his own. "My soulmate."
"My true love," Taehyung whispered, before connecting his lips to Jeongguk's. The ravenette smiling into the kiss.
Hero and Villain, Good and Evil, Light and Shadow.
That's who they were, two persons who couldn't be more differently, more the opposite. Yet one couldn't exist without the other.
Just like without the good, we wouldn't know what evil is.
Just like without the light, we wouldn't know what a shadow is.
And... just like without the night, we wouldn't know what the day is.
