10| Hard to hold back

"Pss, Tae." Taehyung looked up to see Jeongguk being about to throw a piece of crunched paper towards him. Taehyung glanced to the teacher that was sitting in the front, looking as if he was run over by a truck. That's how tired he seemed to be.

It isn't the first time the two get detention, together.

Taehyung nodded towards Jeongguk and stretched his arms out, ready to catch the crumbled up paper. Jeongguk smiled and threw it to him, Taehyung catching it with ease. He opened it, reading the message.

Let's ditch

Taehyung instantly looked up, mouthing a 'no' to the other male, who rolled his eyes, on his way to write a new message. The blond caught this one too and opened it.

Pretty please, Mr Park is almost sleeping anyways
Pretend to go to the toilet and I'll do the same

Taehyung looked up, once again mouthing a 'no', but Jeongguk pouted and looked at him with big doe-eyes. Taehyung sighed, hating when the younger does that.

"Fine," he whispered and Jeongguk smiled widely, before raising his hand. Mr Park didn't respond though and it was obvious the teacher's eyes were closed. Jeongguk hot up, grinning as he walked towards the teacher, waving his hand in fron of him.

He turned back to Taehyung. "He's sleeping, we can just go."

Taehyung smiled, packing his things, wanting to take his bag, when Jeongguk was faster and already did that. Taehyung pouted. "You don't have to carry my bag"

Jeongguk smiled, but said nothing as he walked off, Taehyung quickly following him, like a puppy follows his owner.

"Gguk?" Taehyung questioned quietly. The two best friends were now sitting on the leafy green grass in a park, leaning against a thick tree, which held so much memories for them. When they were younger, they ones carved their initials into the tree and they still were there if you take a closer look. Since then, this would be one of their favorite spots to hang out.

A friendship that will last forever. That's what they had promised to each other and Jeongguk feels so guilty for wanting to break the promise, as he wishes for them to be more than best friends.

But Taehyung had never seen him like that.

Until Jeongguk turned to Bunny.

His secret has given him the opportunity to be with Taehyung on a more intimate state and he is totally using this, hell, why wouldn't he when he knows the boy he has been in love for what feels like forever is now showing him a kind of attraction.

"Gguk" Taehyung tried again because the younger seemed in thoughts. "Mhm, bub?" Jeongguk crossed his arms and leaned more against the tree, closing his eyes at the same time.

Taehyung chewed on his lip. "You never answered my question."

Jeongguk opened his eyes again and looked at the blond. "Which question?"

Taehyung is sure Jeongguk doesn't remember what he had asked him last night, but still he tried it again. Bunny wouldn't leave his mind and he was wondering what Bunny was possibly doing right now. Is he also in school? Work?

"You never answered when I asked you if you like heroes or villains more."

Jeongguk sat up now. "Why are you asking me that again?"

Taehyung looked down, lips in a small pout as he carved with a small wooden stick into the grass and earth. "I'm just curious."

"Do you like that villain that much that he's the only thing you can think about?" Jeongguk smirked when Taehyung's whole face turned red. "I don't like him like that. How would I, I've never met him before."

Jeongguk tilted his head, eyes landing on the older's ears, that turned red. He knew Taehyung was lying, he wouldn't tell Jeongguk that there was a villain staying at his house. Normally he'd get mad if Taehyung hid things from him, but in this case, he just smiled. "If you ever were to meet him... what would you do?"

Taehyung stared at him, his flustered state multiplying. He didn't even know why he was so nervous, after all he used to see Bunny almost every night. "Nothing, what should I do? Tell him how handsome and cool he is?"

It was hard for jeongguk to hold a smirk back. "I think he'd like that," he said and Taehyung huffed. "So, answer the question."

"Villains," Jeongguk simply answer.

Taehyung hummed. "What do you think about Vante?" he looked up to the younger with big doe eyes. "His effort is cute, but he should realize that telling Bunny to stop won't make him stop. He sees Bunny in the wrong light, yeah, he's human too. He should understand that."

Taehyung blinked. "Bunny never talks about himself or his feelings to Vante, how should Vante then understand him and his intentions?"

"It's not that hard! All Bunny wants is someone that loves him..." Jeongguk looked down, "Someone who takes care of him too. Yes, he is the villain and he has powers but that doesn't mean that he never feels weak. He also... needs support and someone who listens and cares for him.."

Taehyung held his breath while Jeongguk said these words. His heart beating uncontrollably faster inside of him, realizing the one Bunny has picked for this position seems to be Taehyung.

Taehyung's eyes wandered to Jeongguk who looked like a kicked puppy, lips pressed together as he was about to pull his cigarettes out of his jacket. Taehyung stopped him, placing his hand on Jeongguk's. He sees and heard in Jeongguk's voice, he was seeing himself and what happened in the past within his previous words. "Gguk.." he whispered softly, as Jeongguk looked up to him.

The raven haired softly pushed Taehyung's hand away. "I need it, I haven't had one today." Taehyung watched with a sad expression how Jeongguk turned the cigarette with his lighter on, before placing the stick between his lips.

But Taehyung still saw the hurt expression and just hugged Jeongguk, taking the ravenette off guard. "What are you doing?"

"Hugging you, can't you see?"

Jeongguk chuckled, putting the cigarette away. His hands moved to rest on Taehyung's waist. "Hmm, I see."

Taehyung tightened his hold on the younger. "You are loved gguk. I love you and you're the most important person to me, my family. Don't think of yourself so low, you're amazing."

Jeongguk pressed his lips together, fighting against the tears. He won't cry, he won't cry, he won't cry... but Taehyung makes it so hard. Guilt washed over Jeongguk for having such a huge secret and keeping it from the older male. Not only that he is a villain, but that he is the exact same villain that's trying to make Taehyung fall in love with him.

It felt wrong, because Taehyung never kept anything from him, told him about every little thing. He knows, no, he is sure, Taehyung has no secrets from him, while he himself is building a bigger and bigger mountain with his own lies.

Little did he know, Taehyung does have secrets.

A shallow breath escaped Jeongguk's lips as he closed his eyes and hugged Taehyung back. "Thank you," he said quietly and Taehyung smiled. "Nothing to thank me, bubba. That's all you. What happened in the past is over, the people who hurt you didn't deserve the blessing of knowing you anyways." Taehyung's tone had changed to more sassy and it made Jeongguk chuckle lightly.

Also, his thoughts kept wandering another path. Taehyung always tells him that he loves him, but he knows there's another context between what taehyung means and what Jeongguk means. Taehyung loves Jeongguk because he's family to him. They've been best friends since they were younger, before their families broke ties and everything crumbled together. However, while Taehyung is able to bring these words so simply over his lips, Jeongguk could never find himself to do that too.

Because, he is in love with Taehyung and there's no way he'd tell him that. However, after hearing the blond's words of comfort and love it just felt hard to hold back what his heart had been dying to say.
"Tae?"

"Hmm?"

"I love you too."
