Jeongguk stepped out of the car, the cold night wind hitting him instantly, goosebumps forming on his skin, though they probably aren't even from the cold, but from the fact that he set foot in the place he dreaded the most.

He went around his car, where Taehyung also stepped out, shivering the same way Jeongguk did, due to same reasons.

He wrapped his arms around Jeongguk's muscular arm and stayed close by him as their eyes studied the two houses.

They looked like normal family houses to others, white walls and cute windows, both with a small fore garden and stone steps leading to the entrance door.

But for Jeongguk and Taehyung, they resembled horror houses, the ones from movies, TV-Shows, books. With the dark aura that already screams danger.

But it seemed too peaceful for that. There was no light around this are besides one big lantern at the corner. No light burned inside the houses either.

"Do you think they're here?" Taehyung asked quietly. Jeongguk didn't need to think to know Taehyung referred to their parents.

Jeongguk doesn't know if he would ever want to see them again. Actually not, the only reason he'd like to see them again would be out of pure curiosity. He would like to know hoe they looked, if they aged, of his mother was still as beautiful as she used to be, despite the monster she was from inside. He'd also liked to know how Taehyung's parents looked like now, his uncle and aunt that used to be his second parents, until they took away the thing most dear to him.

Taehyung wiped a tear from his cheek. "I don't think anyone's living there anymore," he whispered and let go of Jeongguk, walking closer to his old home. He tiptoed to look through a window and just as expected, the inside showed nothing but darkness and nothingness.

Jeongguk advanced him slowly, looked inside too.

Everything seemed the same. It was as if time got frozen when they were gone, besides the fact that their parents were not there anymore.

The ravenette saw Taehyung's sad expression and he couldn't blame him for showing how he feels. It was a sad thing, undeniably.

He let the older boy alone and walked to the other house, his old one. He did the same thing, got a little on his tiptoes to reach the window and looked inside.

It showed a different picture from what was seen in the other house. Everything was destroyed. Thrown around. Broken. His eyes caught the beer bottles on the kitchen table, kitchen counter, the floor, the couch, everywhere.

Hot hatred wandered through his veins at this view.

"I think we should go, Jeongguk," he heard Taehyung's small voice call from behind. He heard it, but he didn't perceive it.

"Gguk?"

When Jeongguk didn't react again, Taehyung looked inside too, instantly clasping his hands to his mouth in pure shock. His heart twisted at the thought that Jeongguk had to see this. "It's okay Jeongguk, let's go-

"Let me burn it."

Taehyung's eyes widened.

But then he remembered what Jeongguk said about ending it all on the root. He stepped closer to Jeongguk and took his hand. "Both of them. After that, let's get the hell out of here. It's creepy."

Jeongguk smiled lightly at the older boy and gave him a soft kiss on the lips. "Let's do this."
