5| Win-win

Taehyung couldn't seem to fall asleep, thoughts running to a certain raven haired villain, that he, after seeing him every night for the past few months, not got to see today. It was strange, but he tried to not dwell on it.

What concerned him though, was how it affected him. Taehyung shouldn't be feeling this way over a villain, over his enemy. E-N-E-M-Y.

Who falls for the person they are supposed to hate and misses them when they don't get to see them for only one day? Taehyung as Vante should be relieved and happy that Bunny didn't show up today, knowing Seoul is safe from his hands and also, he finally got to spend more time with his best friend Jeongguk, who was sleeping soundly next to him on his bed.

Yet, here he was, heart aching after not seeing the villain for one night. Hell, Bunny hates Vante, why can't Vante hate Bunny too? Just like how it is supposed to be. As enemies, good and evil, hero and villain, they should be loathing each other, not catch feelings.

Taehyung hates himself for letting that happen.

But Bunny doesn't do him justice, by being so attractive. Taehyung easily admits, he had never seen someone more handsome than Bunny, even though half of his face is always covered by a mask, but it was alright, because at least he can see the attractive curve of his lips, whenever he smirks.

And Taehyung doesn't know why, but he loves looking into the male's fire-orange eyes, that seem like glowing in contrast to his black hair and attire. All in all, the power of controlling fire is just so hot. Literally.

"Why are you up?" Taehyung flinched hearing the deep voice of his best friend next to him and turns to look at him.

"Do you prefer villains or heroes?" Taehyung blurted his question out, wondering what answer Jeongguk will give. Sometimes Taehyung feels bad for not being able to tell Jeongguk the truth about who he really is and that he is in possession of superpowers.

"Why are you asking me that in the middle of the night?" Jeongguk yawned confused.

"I mean, there's Vante and he tries to keep the people safe, but otherwise, Bunny must have his reasons to act this way. I believe that Bunny thinks that what he is doing is just the way things are supposed to be. It's his view on life. But Vante on the other side thinks otherwise, he sees it from the way the people do. But actually, aren't both doing the right thing? They just see the things with different pair of eyes.." Taehyung mumbled, now that he thinks about it.

Jeongguk blinked, his expression saddening, but heart speeding up. This is exactly why he fell in love with Taehyung. His blonde best friend was the most understanding person on this planet, even without knowing who Bunny is, that Bunny is actually right next to him, laying in his bed, Taehyung understands him.

"You really think so?" Jeongguk questioned, voice quiet and low.

Taehyung hummed. "Bunny is evil, but... I bet if he was able to share his worries, many people would relate to him. He maybe... just needs someone to talk to."

Heart melting at Taehyung's way of thoughts, a small smile played on Jeongguk's lips. "So you like villains more than heroes? You keep defending Bunny."

Taehyung stopped breathing for a moment. He was the hero, his answer should be obvious, but why couldn't he bring the words over his lips?

"I guess, I don't really know. Maybe villains, but not if they really risk innocent lives. I mean, Bunny, he doesn't cause massive damage, he doesn't risk the peoples' lives, rather just enjoys playing around"

Jeongguk was stunned, "how do you know all this? Do you like him that much?"

Taehyung blushed. Jeongguk is his best friend, Taehyung is hiding enough already. He can at least tell him that he is full-on crushing on the villain. "I don't... I don't know. more than I should probably." scratch that probably, because he definitely shouldn't. He should loathe him.

Jeongguk smiled to himself not knowing what to think about his crush crushing on another male, that isn't him, but is him at the same time.

"Someone has a crush~" Jeongguk cooed and Taehyung whined lightly.

The raven was quietly confused though, he had never witnessed Taehyung so interested in the hero and villain, nor had he expected him to side with the villain this way. Taehyung was literally a ray of sun and positivity.

But he ignored this, heart inside of him exploding, because in fact, his crush likes him back.

And a thought crossed Jeongguk's mind.

He was already living a double life so why not add layers to that?

Why not give in to his best friend's desires and bring him closer to his crush?

It would be a win-win situation for both him and Taehyung.

That's at least a way of him being able to show Taehyung how he really feels.

One would describe this way of thinking as selfish and evil.

Hun, he's a villain after all.

"Get up you lazy ass, I don't wanna be late for school, just because you need more sleep!" Taehyung shouted using his pillow to hit his best friend over and over again, trying to get the lazy male out of bed.

"Okay, I get it!" Jeongguk groaned, hitting Taehyung back with his own pillow, causing the light male to stumble back a little and glare at him.

"Asshole."

"Same goes to you, just let me fucking sleep!"

"You've been late for school enough times already, Gguk. Please get up," Taehyung said, now with a softer voice. "C'mon, Ggukie."

And how can Jeongguk in the end refuse the beautiful voice of his best friend? A groan fell past his lips as he slowly sat up, hair standing out in every direction. Taehyung giggled, crawling on the bed to ruffle Jeongguk's hair and straighten it, not knowing how this act caused butterflies to spread their wings inside of the younger's tummy.

"You look hilarious," Taehyung giggled, hands still running through Jeongguk's hair, while the younger just stared at him, eyes longing and fondly.

Taehyung was seriously the only one for him.

In every aspect of his life. Friend, family, home, love, you name it. He could say job, but that would come over the wrong way. Or the right way, but we're not at that point yet.

Jeongguk unconsciously reached his hand out to wrap it around Taehyung's wrist, stopping the male from demolishing his hair even more.

Taehyung froze for a second and looked to Jeongguk, who did nothing but gaze at him with a fond expression, hand holding his wrist.

Realizing what he was about to do, Jeongguk quickly snapped out of it and let go of taehyung's wrist. "Let's go, bear. Otherwise we will be late for school," he said leaving the room.

Taehyung tilted his head in confusion, not knowing what was wrong with Jeongguk for having such a change in his actions.

He shrugged it off though, teleporting himself to the edge of the bed to be able to do his bedsheets neatly, before using his power again, being now right in front of his closet.

Why not use your powers when you can?

Same goes for jeongguk, who didn't even think about using the light switch, but just used his fingers to snip, causing the light bulb of Taehyung's bathroom to switch on, filling the room with its light.

That's just how their lives are now. They're both hiding from the whole world, but once they are alone, they make the best out of their powers.
