23| Bond

A cute, muffled yawn left Taehyung's lips, as he adjusted his head on Jeongguk's chest. The two had showered, got cleaned up and bed-ready, now laid next to each other in Taehyung's bed, cuddling.

They were like this for quite a while already, but sleep wouldn't catch up on either of the two. These past few days were the most chaotic, but eventful days in their entire life. It flipped their whole life over.

"Are you still up?" Taehyung asked quietly, making sure to not be loud if Jeongguk turns out to be asleep. But he wasn't.

"Nope, I'm sleeping."

"Great," Taehyung rolled his eyes.

A smile formed on Jeongguk's face as he pulled Taehyung even closer to him. He inhaled Taehyung's addictive scent, savored this feeling of being with him.

Being with him for real now.

"I love you," he whispered, feeling like no matter how often he was going to say it out loud, it is never going to be enough. He felt so grateful to have Taehyung.

Cheeks turning red for whatever reason, Taehyung snuggled closer to Jeongguk. "I love you."

"It all makes sense now.." Jeongguk mumbled, the smile on his lips audible in his voice. "You having so much empathy for Bunny when you were talking to me-

"Don't remind me. It's embarrassing enough to think about how I told you how attractive and hot I find Bunny, when you were right in front of me."

Jeongguk chuckled, tickling Taehyung's side. "To be honest, I quite enjoyed it."

The older squirmed and squealed, but then pushed himself out of Jeongguk's hold with a huff, turning his back to him. "Shut up. You didn't quite hide how much you were whipped for me either when you came to my house as Bunny."

Jeongguk's smile dropped a little. "About that... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked to curt you without you knowing who I was."

"You didn't know I was Vante either-

"But you weren't fully aware of the fact that I was your best friend too. Because we were best friends, I thought you'd never feel the same for Jeongguk, so I approached you as Bunny. I thought it was the only way to be with you.."

Taehyung's heart swelled a little by the confession. He smiled lightly as he turned back to face Jeongguk. "Since when?"

The younger only raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"Since when are you in love with me?" Taehyung questioned.

Jeongguk gulped, never having admitted it before. "You...were thirteen-

"Since you're twelve?!" Taehyung gasped surprised.

Jeongguk sighed, turning onto his back to look up. "I mean, I've always loved you and I admired you so much. But when we got older I kind of developed this stupid crush on you and because we were best friends, I tried to suppress these feelings."

Taehyung scooted back closer to him.

"I was sure of being in love with you, when you treated my wounds for the first time, after I lied to you that they were caused in a football match. That's when I was 14.."

"Wait? You lied?!" Taehyung's eyes were wide blown. "What happened?"

Jeongguk blushed embarrassedly. "There was this other dude talking about how pretty you are..."

Taehyung's gasped, sitting up. "Y-you started a fight? Because someone said I-I was pretty?"

"Honestly, I'd do it again, even now," Jeongguk shamelessly admitted. "It was no secret that I grew possessive over you anyways."
