CHAPTER FOURTEEN
Meet
I was in my room when I heard a knock on my door. I put my phone down.
"Bukas yan..."
Niluwa ng pinto si Kuya Aries wearing a tshirt and a jogging pants. Humakipkip siya at sumandal sa frame ng pinto. Ngumiti siya sakin.
"Can I go inside?" Tumango ako. Sinara niya ang pinto at lumapit sakin. He sat on my side.
"What's the problem?" Bulong niya
Hindi ako makatingin sa kanya. I was scared to tell him too. Baka ayaw niya din? Baka katulad ni Antreas ay hindi niya din ako tulungan?
"Is Antreas giving you hard time? Hmm?"
Malungkot akong tumingin sa kanya. "Tell me, I'll beat him up for you."
Tumawa kaming pareho sa sa sinabi niya. "You can't do that, no fist fights between siblings, remember?" Mommy's rules.
Because there was that time that they did fight with their fist. It was when kuya Aries caught Antreas bullying a nerdy student. We were still kids that time. Naabutan ko silang nagsisigawan sa sala. At first it was just all talk, but Antreas keep on telling that he wasn't bullying him. The other kid was the bully, said he was forcing the girl in their class to sit with him. Pumagitna ako sa knila dahil ang lakas na boses nilang dalawa! Mama and papa are still not here! I was on my twins side, stopping him. Sa sobrang galit ay naitulak ako ni Antreas ng di sinasadya ng sinubukan niyang pumiglas sa hawak ko. Bumagsak ako sa lapag.
"Ouch..." Mahinang ungol ko. Pareho silang gulat at saglit na hindi nakagalaw.
""Look what you did!" Sa sobrang galit na rin ni kuya Aries ay sinuntok na niya si Antreas.
"You'll hurt your sister too?!" Sigaw ni kuya Aries habang hawak ang kwelyo ni Antreas
"I didn't mean it!!"
I was shouting at them to stop it. I was crying and I was scared that they will both die from hurting. Next thing I know daddy was pulling them away from each other. And mommy was shouting at them too.
With bandages on both of their faces, mommy was horrified, she was almost crying while shouting at both of them. Daddy was quiet behind her letting mom deal with it. She was scolding kuya Aries the most, that he should act as an older brother to both of us, and should be protecting us instead of fighting with us. Pare pareho kaming tahimik habang nakikinig sa sermon ni mommy. Pinagalitan niya rin si Antreas for fighting with kuya too. Saying na hindi siya dapat sumagot ng ganon kay kuya Aries and that he shouldn't hurt people and just call the teachers instead. She also scold of them for me getting hurt hurting. Mom made them promise not to fight with their fists again. She made it a rule in our house.
"No fist fights among siblings."
"Yes mommy." They both said in unison. Nagkatinginan pa ang dalawa at parehong nagiwas lang ng tingin.
"I'll let you two talk! Say you're sorry to each other!" Umalis na si mommy. Kami na lang apat nila daddy ang natira. Huminga ng malalim si daddy at lumuhod sa harap nang dalawa. Hinaplos niya ito sa buhok.
"You kids... Why'd you have to fight like that? You made mommy upset..."
Narinig ko ang singhot ni Antreas.
"I'm sorry Daddy, it's my fault. Mommy's right. I shoul've listen to Antreas first." Malungkot na sabi ni kuya Aries. Umiiyak na din ulit ako because Antreas was silently crying.
